The heart and soul of life's biggest events can often be found hiding in moments. Emily Wenzel is a collector and curator of those moments. Every event she photographs is an opportunity to capture the hundreds of glances, touches, and connections that define our relationships, to preserve them with the talent of her eye and her lens, and hand them back to her clients in celebration of their love, their new life, their family, or simply how unique and beautiful they are.
Based in Spokane, WA, Emily is a whole-hearted supporter of marriage equality and love in all forms, and she's grateful every day that her passion and her profession are one in the same. As the mama of a young feminist, wife to an immigrant, and an avid traveller who feels most at home in a bookstore, she brings a calm, positive presence to every event she photographs. Like many of her clients, she considers herself awkward in front of a camera, and she's spent her 11 years in the industry developing tips, tools, and light-hearted guidance to help those she's photographing relax into themselves and their significant others. While she'll confidently lead her clients with suggestions and inspiration for the images they request, her favorite photographs are often the ones she snaps when they've forgotten, for a moment, that she's there, and are simply busy enjoying each other.
A good photograph can transport you back to the details of your best moments, and Emily's goal is to leave her clients with a collection of individual time machines. Her hope is that each of your pictures calls you to the way you felt and who you were on the day it was captured - that you might see the precious, celebrated details of your loves, little ones, and laughter through the lens of her camera, in all of their messy, real, and beautiful magic.
Elopement coverage starts at $700. The average wedding investment is $2800.

I could go on and on for days about the extraordinary experience I had with Emily Wenzel Photography, but for the sake of brevity I'll try to keep it to a few minutes. I was a great big ball of nerves going in to my wedding. With the many things I had to worry about it felt great knowing that Emily was taking care of our photography and that I wouldn't have to worry about that! I'm pretty sure she's a ninja, because she managed to capture every moment of our big day without ever getting in the way or attracting notice. The pictures she gave us range from sweet and loving to down right hysterical. Every emotion was captured along with every moment, each one as beautiful and breathtaking as the last. Emily is the absolute best. She'll take photos that represent who you are and what you want. You'll be able to look at these photos years from now and, thanks to her incredible skill, remember each moment perfectly because she captured them that way! These won't be like pictures you see of celebrity weddings. They'll be just as beautiful, but they'll also be quirky, and unique, and most of all, they'll be YOU.Sent on 01/30/2016

Emily listens. Most photographers we spoke to tuned us out after we said we only wanted a photographer for the ceremony and reception. But Emily listened to exactly what our vision was, and worked with us to make it happen. We said we wanted natural photos with minimal posing, and she delivered, making us feel completely comfortable the entire time. We didn't have to leave our guests for hours because we were posing for photos, instead we got to be a part of all the special moments and Emily was able to capture them as they happened. She genuinely cared about giving us what we wanted on our wedding day, and we couldn't possibly have asked for more. Emily is the best!Sent on 01/13/2016

If you need a professional, fun, creative, understanding, and organized photographer, look no further! Emily is amazing!! She will get the perfect, memorable shots you are looking for and is very professional and fun to work with. One picture we were really looking forward to was a full family shot. How she got us all organized and looking the correct way (and looking good!) is beyond my comprehension. She is AMAZING! We weren't sure how we wanted our personal shots done and she had beautiful and creative suggestions. We are so so very happy we have these amazing images of our special day! Thank you Emily Wenzel Photography for your wonderful skills! You made our wedding day smooth, perfect and memorable :) P.S. She also sends your picture CD wrapped very tastefully with delicious chocolate :D Loved getting that in the mail!!Sent on 11/05/2014
If you are looking for a photographer with a fun personality and a beautiful product you really should look at Emily Wenzel. She is such a sweet person and puts her heart and soul into all of the work that she does. We have really enjoyed the weddings she has shot and always look forward to see the end product as her pictures turn out amazing. She is easy to work with, which is not always the case with photographers especially from an event coordinator stand point. You want the photographer to ensure they get every shot and memory, however they also need to be consensus of the timeline and keeping the party progress so that no guests wait too long for photos to occur.
I have had the pleasure of working on the same weddings as Emily and I am always impressed with her positive attitude. She often comes and checks in with us in the kitchen and captures a behind the scene perspective that many brides and grooms don't get a chance to see. I believe she has a wonderful eye for capturing the little things that make up a big day. I believe when the couple gets a chance to look back through her lense/photos they will be reminded of all the details that went into their celebration.
Emily is an excellent photographer. I hired her for a family photo shoot which included six children. She was professional, easy going and accommodating. The photos turned out amazing even with crying infants and impatient toddlers. I would recommend her to anyone.
