I recently had my wedding here last month and it was beautiful. I planned and decorated my wedding without the help of any professionals, but with the help of my friends and family and I LOVED the way our wedding turned out. It was a gorgeous spot and the deck just made the reception that much more amazing. If you're considering this, I highly encourage you to do it. The only downfall I had was having to clean at the end of the night. The day is already exhausting and having to clean and pack away was rough, but worth it in the end!Sent on 07/12/2016

I love the Elberta Life Saving Station. We had about 90 people at our wedding and the size was perfect for that amount of people. We utilized the deck for dancing and it looked beautiful with globe lights and lanterns outside. Has a very rustic but classy feel to it. The layout is a little bit strange in the back at first glance, but it worked perfectly as we put the buffet in the furthest back room and the front of the building has a great flow to it with lots of doors. You also get the grassy area next to the station with the rental, which is nice if you want a tent, lawn games, or a place for the kids to run around. The interior is beautiful and has enough character that simple decor looks amazing.Sent on 09/25/2015

The Elberta Life Saving Station is a beautiful, unique location located right on the gorgeous Lake Betsy. It hosts approximately 125 guests, but I'd say 90 is max for comfort. There are big beautiful wood doors that open to the gorgeous outside wrap around deck. We chose to have our wedding ceremony on the deck under the perfectly blue skies overlooking the water to the cute little town of Frankfort. The view was breathtaking!Sent on 07/02/2015
ELSS is a photographers dream! Our photographer was in love with the location because of its beauty and endless backdrop photo opps! Of course there's the historic ELSS building with different kinds of wood, the deck, lots of greenery and nearby woods, a really awesome little ruins area with lots of different brick and unique shaped doorways or arches, the sand dunes, beach and boardwalk - oh and don't forget to take pictures on the pier at sunset overlooking the light houses!
ELSS is a clean, historic and community loved place that provides the blank slate to become whatever your event aspires to be.
BONUS...Kristi Mills who works on behalf of Village of Elberta and is in charge of its rental also has an AWESOME event planning business (Simply Exquisite By The Bay). Check her out! She's amazing and I'd recommend her to anyone! I can't say enough about how perfectly she executed our wedding ceremony and reception details.
The only potential negative about ELSS is the rental fee is kind of high if you have a smaller budget. But the view and experience was worth it. Many of our guests said it was one of the most beautiful weddings they had attended and just absolutely raved about the venue.
