Anita and her team did my makeup and hair for both my engagement party and my wedding. They came all the way to my house, they were punctual and always listened to what exactly I wanted. They never tried to push their ideas on me but really took the time to listen to my wishes and made them happen.

Anita is fabulous! She was my main contact throughout the process, but the rest of her team that came out to help my bridal party great as well! They were on time, prepared, and exceptionally talented!

Anita was wonderful. After a horrible experience with Carolina Hair and Makeup, Anita with Elan Makeup studio made my bridal portraits and wedding day a breeze. She was recommended to me by my photographer Sandra, whom I trust, and picked up the piceces. She is very busy but makes time for you and your hundreds of questions. I love Anita and would recommend her to anyone. She works with your budget, so after losing money with my first beautician, she customized a package that would fit my needs and budget without sacrificing anything. Thank you Anita!!

They did a good job on my hair and makeup but pricing is kind of high and they changed stylists on me 3 times, so it was a little worrisome. All worked out well though, they made sure to work out all changes with me.

How to explain my experience with Elan Hair and Makeup... I must start with, they ended up doing a beautiful job on my wedding day! I was very happy with my look, and the looks they gave my bridesmaids. However, my first trial was a bit rocky, it took much longer than estimated and I got what looked like a 10 year old hair-do (not quite what you want on your wedding day). So I figured with a better explanation they would do a better job on the day of my bridal portraits so I signed the contract and paid the 1/2 deposit since the recommendation came from another trusted wedding vendor. The day of the bridal portraits was a disaster. I still did not get the look I was going for, the estimated time frame was 3-5pm for hair and makeup... totally do-able right? Wrong. She took until 7:30, which was 30 minutes into my bridal portrait time! She never hurried up despite our attempts to try, and when I knew she still had the look wrong and it was time to go, I knew I was sunk. I showed up frazzled to my portraits with very little sunlight left (I might also mention that bridal portraits cost a lot of money, and you really don't want to waste this precious time with your photographer). She forgot to give my my custom makeup to use as backup on wedding day (& still didn't bring it wedding day, claiming she had already given it to me) - and she had the gall to ask me, in my wedding dress on the way out the door, for the remaining 1/2 of the money. I paid it and left and was seriously considering letting that 700-something dollars go down the drain to save my sanity on wedding day. I called the owner hoping for a refund of some sort, or a better solution and she "attempted" to work with me. She did set up another hair stylist for my wedding day, and another trial with her for free, but I honestly think she should have tried to do more. As a wedding vendor you should really try harder to ease a bride's mind and help her with exactly what she needs to make her wedding day a dream

I have to say - I had a horrible experience with this studio. I initially hired Elan for both makeup and hair services on my wedding day. At my trial, my makeup came out so horribly that I cancelled that part of the contract. My biggest problem with Elan was the lack of organization and attention to detail. They were late for every point of the contract... wrong on the trial date, everyone was an hour late on the wedding day - all of the correct times had been communicated and confirmed in writing. By the time they showed up on the wedding day, we were gearing up for Plan B as we were getting zero response via phone (heading to Walgreens to buy pins and curling irons.) It was a really, really negative experience, and I would never recommend them to anyone. Weddings are stressful enough without having to deal with a vendor that does not have a reliable system to keep herself straight on dates and times.
