President and owner Darren Zancan earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism and broadcast media at Eastern Kentucky University. While at EKU, he served as the president of the Society of Professional Journalists, was the editor-in-chief for the campus newspaper, and was selected as the commencement speaker for the graduating class. He went on to earn his master’s degree at the prestigious Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, with a focus in business reporting and electronic media.

During his time at Northwestern, Zancan was awarded the Northwestern Merit scholarship and the Bloomberg Award for excellence. Currently, he is finishing his doctoral degree at Regent University with an expected graduation date of June 2019. Zancan is an award-winning multi-media storyteller, who has captured several awards for his work. He has been honored at the Kentucky Press Association for best sports story, best sports column, best editorial page, best front page design, best ongoing coverage, and best sports page design.

With more than 18 years in the journalism, video, public relations and marketing sector, Zancan has excelled in a wide-range of areas vital to the clients he works with. After several years as a print journalist, Zancan transitioned to teaching at a university level for four years. During his teaching, Zancan developed and implemented new curriculum – sports reporting, backpack journalism, photography and multi-media writing. Zancan currently teaches part time at The University of Kentucky. In 2012, Zancan started DMZ Productions, a full-scale production company devoted to video production and marketing.

His client list is quite extensive and includes: Andrean High School, Campbellsville University, University of Kentucky, Bulls, Bands and Barrels, Dr. Samuel Jones, “Dirtiest Job” star Mike Rowe, “Deadliest Catch” star Nick Tokman, Garlic Head’s Bistro, WLEX18, Mansea Metal, Atlas KPI, and more.

To this date, Zancan has produced and directed a Super Bowl and Winter Olympic commercial for Campbellsville University, a movie theater commercial for Andrean High School, along with several other commercials shown throughout the country.

Currently, Zancan is producing "History Alive" a historical-paranormal TV show hosted by Grant Wilson of "Ghost Hunters." The show features historical sites across the country asking the question, is history alive?
