History

Dickey's Barbecue Pit was founded in 1941 by World War One veteran Travis Dickey in Dallas, Texas, with a commitment to serving delicious, authentic barbecue meals. Travis developed the business successfully with his unique charm and Texas-sized personality, as well as with sizeable help from his wife, Miss Ollie, who looked after serving sandwiches. The company was handed over to Travis' sons in 1967 and became a national franchise in 1994 before branching out globally.
