Dark Roost was born of a dream to serve excellent coffee. Inspired by his sister's shave ice business served out of a vintage trailer, Jon Estep and his wife Stasia began a search for a unique vintage travel trailer of their own.
Their dream morphed as it grew into a reality. After months of searching they found their 1986 Perris Pacer "egg." We call her "Perris". While Perris was on her long journey to their home on Kauai, the Estep's realized she had so much more potential than being used only for hosting an excellent kauai coffee service (although she does that M-F mornings too).
Perris would only be limited to what they limited her to. They decided to convert Perris to serve many functions. With the basic design of a fully functional mobile bar, she could be an eye-pleaser at weddings, parties & festivals. She could serve coffee, alcohol, packaged products, display local art & pose for photographers. She could come with a sound system and be taken to the local art nights where musicians could come set up, plug in and entertain while meanderers enjoyed whatever baked good, packaged product or art was being promoted by the local businesses from her storefront. She could be an Instagram phenomenon and loved by Pinners around the world. Best of all, she had options. She wasn't stuck in a rut doing the same ol' thing everyday. What a life!
This is the the roots of Dark Roost. Perris is our poster child and service to you is why we're here.
