Crook Hall & Gardens is a historic wedding venue nestled on the banks of the River Wear in Durham, England that serves couples all over the United Kingdom. They offer multiple locations for both your ceremony and reception, including a 13th century medieval hall. Couples and their guests will enjoy five acres of enchanting gardens, a beautiful courtyard and a Georgian dining room at this picturesque property. Crook Hall & Gardens looks forward to making your special day everything you dreamed it to be.
Facilities and Capacity
Couples can accommodate up to 80 guests including themselves for their ceremony and dinner. For their reception, they can accommodate an additional 50 guests at this elegant venue. Their various sites include:
- The Gazebo - the perfect place for a small ceremony. It features a woodland aisle and a backdrop of their stunning gardens. You can decorate the charming gazebo as you see fit, or their experienced staff will take care of it for you.
- The Medieval Hall - a unique space built in the 13th century. Fairy lights will be strewn across the beams of the building for a romantic ceremony and/or reception.
- Georgian Dining Room - an elegant space, perfect to host your reception dinner or “wedding breakfast.”
- Croquet Lawn - this lush and gorgeous lawn is the ideal place for dining al fresco. You can easily string decorations from the trees overhead.
Services Offered
This full-service venue offers their Attic Room at the top of their Jacobean House for you and your bridal party to start your day in. If you need to start getting ready first thing in the morning, you can book their Garden Gate Apartment for the night before. There’s plenty of space for you and your bridesmaids. Crook Hall & Gardens provides an attentive staff to ensure your big day goes smoothly from start to finish. Tables, chairs and lace sashes are included in their rental fee, along with glassware and fairy lights. Additional services include, but are not limited to:

Cuisine
This charming, historic wedding venue allows you to bring in your own caterer, or you can use theirs. They're known for their delicious sandwiches, scones and cakes, all of which are served on beautiful, vintage china. They'll also provide steaming pots of tea and coffee. If you prefer a more traditional evening menu, appetizers or a buffet, they offer those as well.
