Perfect Wedding Venue

Captain Linnell became genesis for what was our perfect wedding day. Through the efforts from Shelly, everything went off flawlessly. Her attention to detail and experience cannot be understated, and that level of work led to our guests to have an amazing time. From the start she worked close with us to help us pick vendors and work on the reception timeline. All her recommendations were spot on and her coordination with all our vendors led to such a successful day that it felt effortless for my bride and I. Her husband, Bill, needs also boat load of credit for the phenomenal meal he produced as head chef of the establishment. Our guests could talk enough about how amazing everything tasted and almost every plate was left clean. Honestly, the only negative I can share is the fact they are selling Captain Linnell back to the town of Orleans and that this is the last year that anyone can experience their perfection. We will be returning when we can before closing and know that anyone who does not experience this location, for an event, or simply for a fine dining experience is truly missing out. Amazing. 10/10. Get there while you still can.

Captain Linnell House is such a beautiful, classic, rustic, romantic, and historic venue to exchange vows! We instantly fell in love with Captain Linnell by taking just one look at the backyard garden and gazebo, with the majestic trees all lined up around it. Both Shelly Hippler-Conway and her husband not only own it, but also work very hard and come with the package. Shelly was my coordinator. When ever I had a question, she was there to answer it, and worked diligently to make sure our wedding went off without any issues. Her organization skills were amazing, even if time or a detail slipped away for a bit, she would some how manage to pull it all back together. Her husband is the chef at the Linnell and his food was absolutely delicious (especially the filet mignon, yummmmm)!!! The perfect package that Captain Linnell offers and the one that I chose that was available at the time, include open bar during cocktail hour, wine & beer for the rest of the night, ceremony outside, reception inside, sit down 3 course fine dining, champagne toast, and a rose petal "shower" send off at the end of the event. Captain Linnell also stays open for dinner when no events are going on! Everything was beautiful, We highly recommend using Captain Linnell House for ceremony ad reception, and any other events as well! We look forward in going back to visit for dinner sometime in the near future!!

Captain Linnell House is a beautiful old ship captain's house on the Cape. The old charm is perfect for weddings. Shelly Conway is the woman in charge there and my fiancé and I felt completely comfortable with Shelly running the behind the scenes of our wedding. She seems very much the type of woman where if you want it, she will make it happen. We had our ceremony in back of the house at their gazebo which worked beautifully, the sun was beginning to set and as it came through the trees it was perfect for pictures. We also had our reception there. Their autumn bisque soup, which is only available in October and November, is amazing and very flavorful. We had one version of their surf and turf (swordfish and filet) and both were fantastic. The filet was incredibly tender and probably the best I have ever had. We would also highly recommend their bacon wrapped dates as a passed appetizer. Because it is an old house, the dinner is actually served in 3 rooms which all look out to one another and there are windows in-between so you can see and talk to people in other rooms so this was not an issue for us. They have a main ballroom where they have cocktail hour and then cake cutting and dancing so nobody misses out on seeing those. There are 3 fireplaces, one in the main ballroom and 2 more in the rooms where dinner was served that add to the ambiance. We were looking for a place that could handle the ceremony, reception and was unique. We could not have found a better place for us. In addition, the overall price for an onsite ceremony and reception were amazing and included a lot (linens, food, open bar for cocktail hour, wine at table and then beer and wine covered for reception).
