Allen, the photographer, was born and raised on the island of Oahu , Hawaii . His childhood was simple and without a serious care in the world besides homework and piano lessons. Always fascinated with photography, he recalls the excitement he'd feel whenever his parents came home with those yellow and white Kodak envelopes filled with freshly developed photographs... sometimes he was more interested in playing with the negatives because he thought it made people look funny.
Often he would spend an hour on each developed roll to critique them and figure out what could have made each picture better and which were his favorites. Within the same hour he organized and placed the photos into family albums which he now regards as priceless reminders of the past without which would make memories so much more difficult to keep.
He was reminded of the value and importance of photography again in 2009 as he gathered his and his fiancé's pictures which would be used in his very own wedding slideshow. He carefully selected and painstakingly scanned each image, some of them 30 years old. The slideshow effectively conveyed their history, memories, and love for each other.
It is this very personal experience that drives Allen to meticulously "document" peoples engagements, weddings or other special events in such a way that it will also be remembered and cherished for many years to come.
