Bayou Pointe Event Center is a banquet hall wedding venue located on the campus of the University of Louisiana Monroe in Shreveport, Louisiana. The facility caters to a variety of events including weddings, conferences, lectures, corporate events, and other special occasions in its indoor and outdoor spaces. While using the venue, couples and their guests can enjoy a waterfront view of the beautiful bayou from the back patio.
Facilities and Capacity
Sitting at 37,000 square feet, the Bayou Pointe Event Center includes a ballroom, theater, reception hall, outdoor patio, and stage equipped with A/V equipment and a dance floor. Cypress Hall is the largest area, encompassing the DeSiard Room and Bayou Room, plus the outdoor patio and stage when rented. Other areas include the Lagniappe Theater, Lagniappe Reception Hall, and Spirit Hall. The facility welcomes wedding events such as ceremonies, receptions, bridal showers, engagement parties, elopements, and rehearsal dinners. For ceremonies, get-ready rooms are available for the wedding party to use as a dressing area before the occasion begins. Parking is available on-site, along with shuttle service and wheelchair access into the building.
While couples are expected to set up for their event themselves, staff at the center can help with the clean up process. Outside vendors are permitted, and the event center can supply a list of preferred caterers who can create delicious food for any occasion. Open or cash bars will be staffed by Bayou Pointe’s certified bartenders. In each room, lighting and sound equipment is provided, as well as the venue’s event rentals including:
