All Souls Church, Unitarian is a historic 200 year young church that has played a vital role in Washington, DC, and the nation as a whole. Located at the intersection of 16th and Harvard Streets, the church straddles the Mt. Pleasant, Columbia Heights, and Adams Morgan neighborhoods.
Founding members included slaves, free African Americans, immigrants, laborers, merchants and distinguished local and national leaders—each involved in key issues facing the country—abolition, education, poverty, civil rights, peace, and economic justice. The building is the third location of a church founded in 1821 as the First Unitarian Church of Washington by American visionaries—William Ellery Channing, founder of American Unitarianism; and in the DC area, President John Quincy Adams, Vice President John C. Calhoun, and Charles Bulfinch - who designed not only the original church but the U.S. Capitol. Today, All Souls Unitarian Church remains a leader of liberal reform, social justice, and community outreach.
Couples of all religious backgrounds and orientations are warmly welcomed at All Souls Church, where in 2009, Mayor Adrian Fenty signed DC’s Marriage Equality Act into law in the All Souls sanctuary.
We understand that this is a special day for you, one of the most important in your life, and we're committed to ensuring that your ceremony and reception is as meaningful and smoothly realized as it is beautiful.

What a Beautiful Space and Experience
We used just Pierce Hall for our Reception as the ceremony was down the road. Working with Rose in the months before was amazing as she let us have many site visits to ensure we were not missing anything. With the space we were able to bring in our own caterer which allowed us to have good food and not be stuck with a venue's exclusive partners. The hall is beautiful with the tall windows and natural wood, that there is not much that has to be done to dress it up. The timing was great and the night went more perfect than we could have imagined. We recommend also renting the outdoor courtyard as it provided a quiet space over the evening for people and our guests appreciated having use of that space. If starting the planning again we would do our reception at All Souls no questions asked!Sent on 10/15/2019

Such a joy
We had the most wonderful experience getting married at All Souls. The space is beautiful, the wedding coordinator did a great job running the rehearsal and ceremony, and the minister crafted a deeply meaningful, personal service for us. As a queer, interfaith couple, we could not have asked for a more welcoming and inclusive venue for our wedding.Sent on 06/17/2019
