Calling all Thailand Honeymooners!!!

SDBride6.16, on February 18, 2016 at 5:54 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 12

Hi everyone! My fiance and I settled on a Thailand honeymoon. For those of you going or that have gone, what do you recommend for accommodations? We will be going in June so I have heard weather on the Koh Samui side is better so that is where we plan on going after a few initial days in Bangkok. Did you use a travel agent or book everything on your own? How was you experience in Thailand?

    Yey* for Thailand Honeymoons!

When are you guys going? and for how long are you planning on staying? Do you have anything booked yet? or still looking around

We're flying into Bangkok, staying for 2 days, going up to Chiang Mai for 5 days then spending the last 7 in Phuket.

We did not use a travel agent, because when I started asking around they told me that our 8-10k budget was too small for a 2 week trip to Thailand. That was clearly not true.

I did tons of research before we booked and read lots of reviews and talked to a lot of people we know who have been in the past few years.

    We're going in April.

One of my BMs is a travel agent for AAA, so she helped us with booking our flights.

We're only planning a few things ahead; most have advised us to be flexible and cruise around the country.

MauiWowie - we were told to do the same, we only booked the elephant sanctuary in advance since we wanted to make sure we got the one we wanted

Love Thailand. Great food, especially if you like spicy. We booked all our own accommodations and lodging. Tripadvisor is your friend.

What sites did you use for booking accomodations? We are going 6-8 through 6-22! We plan om doing Bangkok for a few nights then Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Koh Phangan. Any other suggestions? We'd love to do Phi Phi or Krabi but I've read that side is rainy. What hotels did you all look at in Bangkok? Thank you!

You can book directly with the hotels if you find which ones you want to stay at. They each have websites with contact info and people who can email in English. Occasionally you can get a better price directly with the hotel than you could with a booking website. Most of them also prefer to get paid in cash rather than credit card.

I adore Thailand, and there is some of the best scuba diving ever there. Stay flexible, wander the streets and eat the street food, see a couple of temples. Bancock is crazy and loud, like any big city, so by the time you get to the countryside, you'll be way ready!

For those of you who booked everything or planned on your own, where did you purchase travel insurance?

My best friend marriage will be held on upcoming days so she planned for her marriage & honeymoon. so she chooses the packages of Magic Day - Wedding planner on Koh Samui to arrange all the event in that place. Her budget is comparatively less than the others. Hope all the events will occur properly & give more happiness to her.

We have sent many couples on honeymoons to Thailand! We have an Asia Specialist who helps our brides. She is from Thailand! Even if you don't use us I suggest a travel agent. It costs nothing more to use us and you have someone who has your back before, during and after your trip. If you would like more information contact us ******@************.*** or 717-732-5813

I have spent quite a lot of time in Thailand back in my younger days.

The weather in Ko Samui is definitely going to be better. I would strongly recommend planning on your own as opposed to using a travel agent.

Ko Samui is going to be a little crowded (But not as crowded as a Krabi or Phuket). If almost empty beaches excite you, consider spending a few days in Ko Phangan which is an hour away from Samui. If you are in the mood to do Scuba, you can head to Ko Tao which is also near Ko Samui. It is one of the best places to do Scuba in Thailand.
