Our Story
Erik and Carolina’s story began in 2004 when Carolina met Erik’s best friend Ben through an online virtual reality game.
Ben and Carolina became good friends as they rolled played their characters on this online "MUD", while in the meantime Erik would just sit behind Ben’s desk making fun of him. One day while on the phone with Ben, Erik decided to say hi... and that’s when the friendship began. One call after the other, Erik and Carolina started a friendship that would end shortly after.... when Erik moved to LA with his girlfriend at the time.... Carolina was in a relationship as well at the time... ...a year and a half went by before the conversations started again.... when one day Erik remembered that colombian girl he once talked to... and he decided to give her a call.... Carolina did not remember at first, then she was in shock when she realized who it was... they talked for about 2 days and Carolina decided she was not ready for a new relationship, let alone a long distance relationship.... but Erik didn’t give up and he continued calling sporadically, leaving messages "just to say hi".... After nearly 3 months, Caro finally decided to give him a break and answer the phone! And this time the conversations started getting longer and longer and they became a daily routine.... after a couple of months of phone conversations they both decided it was time to meet in person... and on May 25 of 2006 Carolina flew to LA to meet this "complete stranger" who felt like a soulmate. It was love at first sight and it felt as if they had known each other for a very long time... this was the day it all began... in only a year and 10 months they have shared a lifetime together, from traveling all the way to Colombia, to going on a Cruise to Mexico with the family and close friends, to flying to New York, Boston, and Milwaukee and spending already two very special Christmas Holidays together.... ...it has really been a wonderful relationship and these two will have a very special marriage that will last "till death do us part". "It was a very cold (65 or so) windy day in LA. I was very sad because it was my last day and we were heading to the airport. My flight was at 9:50pm so we were trying to kill time and just drive around... I really was in the mood for a little bit of California shopping before heading back to Miami so I had asked Erik to take me to the Santa Monica mall. I was very moody to say the least... sad, tired, cold, and annoyed...poor Erik, what he must’ve been feeling... I still don’t know.... but I was not a happy camper :)
