Since not all of our friends and family could make it all the way out to Turkey for the wedding, we thought we'd throw a small party in Autumn's home town. We'd love to introduce you to Devrim, celebrate our marriage, and share a little bit of both of our cultures. We'd be thrilled if you could join!
The actual party is Saturday, December 10, but we'll plan a few activities beginning Thursday, December 8. We hope you'll come for the whole weekend, but please feel welcome to join anytime. Just let us know what your plans are, and we'll do our best to help make your trip as easy and affordable as possible.
We'll keep updating this page with plans and details as they develop.
Hotels: We'll stay in Las Vegas on Thursday and Friday, and in Pahrump on Saturday. If you plan to book a room in Las Vegas, please let us know if you prefer to arrange your own room, or if you'd like to share a suite at the Venetian. These sleep 4-6 people, and a suite runs about $250, or $40-65 per person. If you can, please let us know your preference by Saturday, November 12th.
THURSDAY Dec. 8
For those plan to arrive on Thursday and would like to see a Vegas show, too, we recommend "Ka," which is absolutely breathtaking. More details
here.
Ticket prices range from $70-180, and I may be able to arrange a group discount if enough people are interested.
Evening: No plan for this night except drinking & wandering the Strip. Or we can take you on an informal (ie, led by Autumn) tour of historic old Vegas.
SATURDAY Dec. 10
Daytime: We'll shuttle everyone up to Pahrump together for a Turkish/American BBQ at Autumn's mom's house, plus pics & cake. Oh, and
these :-)
Evening: We'll hit the local Pahrump nightlife for Western line-dancing and Turkish bellydancing--and yes, lessons will be provided!
SUNDAY Dec. 11
Daytime: Brunch and a tour of our neighborhood brothel. Also, horseback riding lessons for anyone interested.
Early afternoon: Shuttle back to Vegas.**
**In Las Vegas, the airport is very close to the Strip and only takes a few minutes by taxi. However, from Vegas to Pahrump takes about 1.5 hours, which is why we've arranged a shuttle. We'll do our best to give everyone a ride between Pahrump and the Vegas airport, so please let us know your travel times as soon as you can. If you prefer flexibility, or need to travel at a conflicting time, we suggest renting a car. Car rentals in Vegas are very affordable compared to other cities. We recommend Budget; the cheapest option is Fox, but it does entail an extra shuttle ride as their office is a bit further away from the airport.
