Our Story
Andrew and I met at Chick-fil-A, where we were both employed. Andrew started working there in early 2006. There was an attraction between us, but nothing came of it at the time. Summer 2006, Andrew went to California to visit his dad for three months and I started dating some other people. When he returned, I realized that I still liked him. But because I was still seeing other people, I decided to just drop it. Fortunately, although it didn't seem like it at the time, one of the guys that I was seeing broke my heart...and Andrew was there to pick up the pieces. I knew immediately that we were going to date, but we took it slow initially. He took me on a date and kissed me goodnight at the end of it. And then, after spending the evening together on October 5, we decided that it should become official.
We began talking about getting married within the first few months of being together. Despite criticism that we got from our friends and families that we were moving too quickly, we just knew that we were meant to be together, and that's all that mattered. On our two year anniversary, Andrew proposed to me! We were spending the day together celebrating our anniversary and he had dropped me off to get a manicure and pedicure. Little did I know, this was just to get me out of the house so that he could set up everything for the proposal. He had many of our friends and some family come and help him completely transform our apartment into a romantic getaway. There were candles, roses, and rose petals everywhere. It was magical to see. He had cooked me an amazing meal and was treating me like I was nothing less than a princess. Even though he had done all of that, I still didn't expect it when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! |
