According to WeddingWire, "People love reading about how you two met and became the special couple that you are today." So people, here you go.
Greg and Kayce met in early 2005 on MySpace. Greg is a crazy person and after three weeks of messages and phone calls he put himself on a plane across the country, determined to find out if what he was feeling was real. In spite of the ice storm that nearly killed the Southern California boy, a more perfect weekend could not have been had. From that weekend on, they were nearly inseparable. Greg eloquently informed Kayce, “By the way, this is an exclusive thing,” and official couple-hood was born. For five excruciating months they suffered the pain of a long distance relationship. SUFFERED, I tell you. Kayce made a few visits to California in between, but it wasn’t nearly enough. In July of 2005, Kayce packed up, Greg flew to D.C. and the pair drove across the country.
Insert two years of living normal life.
Greg and Kayce began seriously discussing their future together at Christmastime 2006. They were both ready to take the next step. However, Greg wanted the proposal to be a surprise. So he waited. For five months, he waited for her to “forget” that a proposal might be coming. Yeah.
On Saturday of Memorial Day weekend 2007, the lovely couple had their carpets steam cleaned. Unbeknownst to Kayce, Gregory had already purchased the ring and didn’t want to leave it unguarded in the apartment. All day he walked around trying to keep the ring box bulge in his pocket out of Kayce’s sight. He was successful.
Sunday was an amazing day. They spent the morning hiking in Santiago Oaks. That evening, they headed to Huntington Beach for a late night beach walk. On the beach, Greg got down on one knee and proposed! Kayce cried and hugged and kissed so much she nearly forgot to say yes.
Then there was more living stuff, and soon a wedding, a second reception on the anniversary of their engagement, and the happily ever after.
