(Married)
- Ken and Suzanne will be getting married at St. Emydius Grandma and Grandpa Keuper met at a square dance in the church gym and were married there as well over 55 years ago. When you're in the church, take a close look at the baptismal fountain, this was a gift to the church from Ken's grandparents.
-The newlyweds will be toasting to eachother using the same goblets that the bride's parents drank from at their wedding 32 years ago.
- Blue is Suzanne's favorite color, and Brown is Ken's. Hence the wedding colors were picked.
- On one of their earlier dates, Ken gave Suzanne a giant Hershy's Kiss, so that "her first kiss from him was guaranteed to be a sweet one" . Suzanne returned one just as sweet, but real.
- Ken shares his birthday with Suzanne's Grandma Dorothy. October 14th.
- Ken and Suzanne have a green Jeep named Oscar
The Engagement Story
While volunteering at the Special Olympics in Hawaii, Suzanne chatted with a friend and co-worker of Ken's, who suggested the Makapu'u lighthouse hike as a great way to spend Sunday morning. Suzanne loved the idea and when she told Ken he quickly agreed...The plan had been set in motion. Little did Suzanne know that Ken had spoken with the very same co-worker earlier that day and planned that the co-worker slyly brings the lighthouse hike at Makapu'u up later with Suzanne. Sunday morning the two set off on the hike. It took about 30 minutes to summit the trail and reach the lookout. While Suzanne looked out at the amazing views Ken dropped down to a knee and surprised Suzanne as she turned around. Asking her to be his wife, his partner in life, and his guide like the lighthouse on the cliff they overlooked from the hike. Beaming Suzanne accepted, and even though they were a bit hot and sweaty from the hike they were both on top of the world emotionally and literally! As they enjoyed the hike back down they laughed over the scheme Ken had put together to surprise Suzanne with his proposal.
