Russell and Jessica
Our Wedding Website
Well, we had been talking about getting married for a long long time, but since Russell is currently putting himself through school, he said he just couldn’t afford a ring for a while. Well, the day before we got engaged he told me that he was sorry that he just wasn’t going to be able to get me a ring for a while. I completely fell for it.
The next day was a rainy, nasty Tuesday. Who would have thought he would have proposed to me then?!? Not me and that was the point. He told me that he was going to take me out to dinner and that he would pick me up at 5:30! Well, I didn’t hear from him the whole day, which is abnormal. We usually are texting some throughout the day, but he was completely ignoring me. I didn’t think much of it though.
When he picked me up for "dinner," it was raining cats and dogs. I kept asking him where we were going to dinner and he wouldn’t tell me. We started driving up Signal Mountain, which if you live here, you would know there are little to no restaurants up there. So, I was started to get suspicious, but he kept telling me he had found this amazing restaurant.
We get to the top of the mountain and arrived at Signal Pointe, which is a park that overlooks downtown Chattanooga. As we pull in, it convientely stops raining :) We walked down the sidewalk to a pavilion. Under the pavilion were tons of candles and a wrapped box that said “Will” on the top of it. I opened and found another wrapped box that said “you,” etc. The last box was the ring and he went down on one knee and asked me to marry him and the rest was history :)
