Wedding details
Who knew that one of the longest and hottest summer days in 2006 would lead to one of the longest and most meaningful relationships between two strangers. Ivy and Edwin first locked eyes during a little pool party thrown by Edwin’s cousin, Michelle. Edwin, a young basketball player who just got back into the states from playing in Europe, and Ivy, a young C.P.A. who was still finding herself, would ignite a seemingly small friendship that would explode into an everlasting love. Conversation was as natural as breathing between these two, and eventually led to what would be their first date at the thrill seekers amusement park, Magic Mountain. Tiffany, Edwin’s cousin and one of Ivy’s best friends, was the mediator between the two and helped organized the day in which they should go to Magic Mountain. Of course this task could have been accomplished by the two themselves if they were brave enough to ask for each other’s number after the pool party, but apparently shyness is a common characteristic. The day of the ‘date’ was not as personal as Edwin thought originally since cousins and friends joined both Ivy and Edwin. Edwin, the cavalier gentleman that he was trying to be, won a basketball for Ivy that she still has to this day. It was a magical day mainly because it ended with the group being part of the Magic Mountain parade that involved dancing with all of the cartoon characters, thanks to Ivy’s Aunt. A great time was had by all, and the night ended without even an innocent kiss on the cheek. Ivy and Edwin casually remained in touch over the next couple of years until fate stepped in when both were ready to take on a serious relationship. Let Ivy tell the story and Edwin called her on that mysterious first day of July in 2009, but Edwin’s phone had no record of the call. Fortunately Ivy returned the mysterious miss call and conversation ensued as when they first met. A date was setup for a few days later and, unlike when they first met, a special aura of emotion was felt by both parties. It was just dinner and bowling, but that would be the first of many dates that summer and would eventually lead to Ivy visiting Edwin in both France and Switzerland in the coming years. Whether it is traveling together throughout the world, or sharing laughs with family at various functions, or enjoying a nice dinner and a movie alone, there is no doubt that both Ivy and Edwin were meant to be together.
