We were SO impressed with DJ John throughout the entire wedding process! We originally chose him because he had such good reviews on here (Weddingwire.com) and because he had a very easy-going personality. Trust me, we did our DJ research and his personality was not easy to find. Upon booking John, he met with us and made us feel so comfortable with the way a wedding reception usually runs (e.g., first dance, cake cutting, etc.). Additionally he gave us fun ideas that we never would have even thought of, however, he did not pressure us into anything. He was in constant communication with my husband and me during the months preceding our wedding (was very prompt w/ emails/calls) and even DJed our wedding, even though it was his own anniversary! Next, the songs we chose for the father/daughter dance and for our first dance changed a few times and he never became irritated with us. The day before the wedding he added some last minute things that I wanted without any complaints! Furthermore, I was trying to get a slideshow set up and I wasn't sure how to get everything situated and he helped me with that even though it wasn't part of his job. Weeks before the wedding, he emailed me an agenda of the reception night that I was able to send to my other vendors (photographer/videographer) so they could see how the night would go. The day of the wedding, I felt so comfortable knowing that he was there to entertain our guests during cocktail hour and when we (the wedding party) arrived, the party began! He kept everyone on the dance floor all night (which is what we've always wanted at our wedding) and chose music that was good for all age groups! We didn't make a "Play" or "Do not play" list, rather, we had John choose the music. He was EXTREMELY good at reading the crowd! People were dancing who usually NEVER dance - it was awesome! The night was supposed to end at 11, but everyone was having so much fun that we extended our reception by an hour and DJ John was more than happy to stay! We had SOOO many people comment on John the night of the wedding, the next morning, and every time we talk to anyone who was at our wedding. Today, my husband said people were STILL saying good things about DJ John at work. A DJ can either make or break a wedding and DJ John definitely made our wedding reception a night to remember! He will not disappoint you! :)
I originally found Accents Unlimited on here (weddingwire.com) while looking for wedding invitations. When I came across Jodi's work, I noticed that her invitations were much different than what I had seen on other sites. I called her on a Sunday and she met with me that evening when I told her I was going to be leaving town that night. After meeting with Jodi, we decided to order our invitations through her. She designed everything but I was able to give her input/feedback. Through Accents Unlimited, I was able to choose colors to match my wedding color scheme. She even did original things on the invitations like designed a monogram just for us and put an outline of the Pittsburgh skyline in the background of my invites. She was in constant communication with me throughout the designing process. She had ideas to make the RSVP collection process easier too! Needless to say, the invitations came out beautifully and we got SO MANY compliments on them! Additionally, we decided to use Jodi for our wedding ceremony coordinator. She met with my mom and me two times before the wedding to go over everything and came to rehearsal. The day of our wedding, she made sure everyone had the correct flowers, helped the guys get their flowers pinned on, got everyone down the aisle, and basically made sure everything ran smoothly. Lastly, Jodi designed these really original booklets for us to put in our hotel guest bags. They basically had fun facts about Pittsburgh, where to dine, things to see, etc. in them. We also got many compliments on them! Jodi also had many other ideas for us for the ceremony/reception. I would definitely recommend Jodi for your special day! :) ~ Jen
