After viewing several other locations, I could not stop imagining our wedding taking place at Malibou Lake. It has everything you could want for a wedding venue... Beautiful landscaping, gorgeous surrounding scenery, large reception hall, patio for cocktail hour, bridal room, chivari chairs (included), and a professional staff. Although it doesn't allow outside caterers, Truly Yours Catering will provide everything you could want in a menu for your Malibou Lake wedding. The food was delicious and there are so many options you can add or customize. I did not have my own coordinator during the planning process, so it was a relief to know that Meredith (coordinator for Malibou Lake) would take care of many of the details for us, for example timeline, placesettings, rehearsal, etc. She was easy-going and such a pleasure to work with, often lending helpful advice for a bride-to-be who doesn't know the first thing about wedding details. It was not necessary to over-do the decor or flowers because the location is charming and absolutely beautiful as is. It is a simple and elegant venue which is perfectly accessible yet tucked privately in the hills. I highly recommend seeing this site!
Sandra is an amazing person to work with! After researching tons of wedding photographers, we decided on Sandra because she has a unique and artistic approach to wedding photography but without the extravagant pricetag. I was certain I wanted bright, fun, edgy, photos as opposed to the traditional (and sometimes boring) ones I was use to seeing. Being a bride on a budget, Sandra was able to meet all my expectations. Bride and grooms should expect to devote a significant amount of their budget to photography afterall, this is an artist you are paying to capture the most precious moments that you will treasure for a lifetime! However, it does not have to break the bank. Sandra instantly makes you feel at ease, like you've known her for years. She cares about your day, about each and every detail. She wants to showcase you at your best and helps you feel at ease and natural in front of the camera. She was professional and reliable in all of our dealings with her! One special touch that took us by surprise was when she displayed some of the photos taken earlier that day, right there at the reception using a digital monitor. It was beautiful and guests gathered around to catch glimpses of all the spectacular and tender moments of the day. We are so thrilled we booked Sandra as our photographer! We could not be happier!
Laurie has quite a nice reputation amongst my circle of friends who have all recently married and had all used her services for their weddings. And being a bridesmaid in one of those weddings, I witnessed firsthand the quality of her work and professionalism So, I didn't hesitate for a second to call Laurie when I was planning my own! When I discussed my ideas to her, she lit up with enthusiasm. She was so excited to work with me and the feeling was mutual. She was able to create a stunning look of fuschia carnations and bright pink peonies to go with our Fushia and Navy theme. It was EXACTLY like I envisioned. I was so worried that the pink would either be too orangey or too light of a baby pink but Laurie kept in close touch with me throughout the process and days before the wedding she notified me that her supplier had the perfect shade of pink! I was so relieved! She is truly creative and did an excellent job achieving the bold and modern look I was going for! She is flexible and will work within a modest budget. She really knows her stuff and can create any floral design you wish. I definitely recommend Unique Floral Design!
Joleen at A Sweet Design can and will create anything you desire! She is so talented and such a pleasure to work with! I was first led to A Sweet Design after reading many fabulous reviews on this same site. When I arrived at the shop I was pleased to see how colorful, quaint, and cute it was! I began describing my dream cake to Joleen as she sketched out the design. We decided on cupcakes displayed on a gorgeous square tiered cupcake stand. I had seen many other cupcake stands that were flimsy and or cheap looking and could not accommodate a large number of cupcakes, but Joleen had a one-of-a kind stand that can be decorated however you choose and make the cupcakes appear stacked just like a real cake. I began tasting many wonderful flavors, all were moist and delicious. I was particularly impressed by the white cake with mango-filling.(I chose this flavor for the top tier, bride & grooms cake). Joleen was professional and helpful in all of our meetings. On the wedding day she arrived on time and set up the most beautiful cupcake display ever! I was so pleased, it was exactly what I had hoped for! Truly I was not too concerned with how they tasted (I'm a visual person who is much more concerned with presentation) but I was so delighted to find out my guests were LOVING the chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. I kept hearing how moist they were so I decided I had to try for myself. I took one bite and was amazed! They were even more delicious than I remembered from the tasting! Yum! I am so glad I chose A Sweet Design. Joleen is easy to work with and her pricing is SO reasonable for the quality she delivers! Her work is stunning!
Pink Lily Press did an amazing job at creating all my wedding stationary! After much disappointment from viewing several popular invitation sites, I decided to go with a custom design from Pink Lily Press. They had many designs to choose from so I chose one of their modern and elegant designs and they were able to create it in any color I wished! This was very exciting because I wanted Navy and Fuschia invitations but had never seen those colors paired together on stationary before. Jen was able to create a bold & fun yet sophisticated design which perfectly set the tone for our event! Jen was very helpful at providing proper wording and gave me several options to choose from. She is meticulous at preparing each handmade invitation and even the response cards were mounted on heavy cardstock...very impressive. We received many compliments on how beautiful our invitations were! I had requested a damask print in Navy for my Thank You cards and they came out EXACTLY like I wanted! Pink Lily Press can create any design you wish on everything from menus to programs and placecards! The pricing is so reasonable and it is not often you are able to get a custom design at such an affordable price! I definitely recommend Pink Lily Press!
