Neither us nor any family members are members at North Oaks, so they charged us a fee for using the facilities. However, for everything they gave us, it really didn't seem too much compared to the other venues we considered. One fee gave us access to the church, the Sunday School rooms for changing, etc., the fellowship hall for the reception, and the kitchen. For what it was, it was an excellent place. The sanctuary is new, so the setting was beautiful. They also worked with us to give us time for planning out our ceremony in the church (we had some artsy touches to the ceremony, and they gave us time in the sanctuary to block it), and two days before the ceremony to start decorating.
We were very limited, due to church rules, in what we could do in the reception, but if you're ok with simple and small, it works just fine.
For a simple wedding and reception, North Oaks is a great spot.
I LOVE 2G Roses!! I cannot say enough about how great they are! I ordered a wedding test bunch, and they arrived in beautiful shape, and gave me lots of ideas for my wedding flowers. I ordered mostly roses from them, with a few filler (recommended by my wedding coordinator), and they all arrived two days before the ceremony absolutely stunning! They remained beautiful for the wedding, and lasted a good while afterwards. I just loved them. And the value was incredible! We spent just over $300...on ALL of the flowers for our wedding and reception. Amazing, in my opinion. This was probably my favorite vendor. I should add, we ordered them about a month before the wedding, and had no problems at all.
Amazing...we met with several wedding cake designers/bakeries, and were so pleased with Megan at Nutmeg & Co. I described my wedding dress, colors, ideas to her, and she designed a gorgeous cake. It was absolutely amazing, and tasted fabulous. :) The best part was the price. She charged us half of what other bakeries wanted for the most basic of their cakes! I would highly recommend Nutmeg & Co. to anyone!
White House Black Market is my hero when it comes to my wedding! :) My bridesmaids came into town for two days in order to find the perfect dresses for them, classy, affordable, that they could all wear again. We searched and searched, checked all the wedding vendors in the area, and finally stopped in WHBM...and found the perfect dresses! Between the seven of them, my bridesmaids picked two dresses that looked beautiful on each of them, they'd wear again, and meshed together well. Best of all, when we went to buy them...they were all sale 60% off!
WHBM ended up being part of my bachelorette party, and also outfitting me for my rehearsal dinner. We loved using them as part of our wedding, and they made it possible for my poor, college and high school age bridesmaids to have beautiful dresses that didn't break the bank and that they'd wear again.
We used Nash printing in Houston for our invitations after looking at several specifically "wedding" vendors. And we got a great result! Nash's took the idea of the invite I loved (dark colored card stock with light printing) and made it in house at less than half the price of the invitation from the "invitation idea book"!! Our invites turned out beautifully, everyone loved them, and we saved a ton of money using Nash's. They worked with us well, were extremely helpful, and turned out a great product.
