London Town Gardens is absolutely beautiful and perfect for our ceremony and reception. The gardens are very well maintained, as are the Pavilion House and tent. We were pleased to learn that they recently got a new tent and it was fully lined, which made it look much nicer. We loved having everything in one place, to make it easier for our guests and give us a seamless transition between the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner/dancing. We had 140 guests and it was definitely very full under the tent for dinner - London Town's capacity of 150 is definitely accurate (or even a little bit high).
We used the gardens for the ceremony (which was gorgeous, the deck for the ceremony is perfect and has a great view) and cocktail hour, had dinner under the tent and then all the guests moved into the Pavilion House for dancing. At first we were a little bit concerned that guests would have to move after dinner (especially the elderly guests), but it worked great and everyone spent the rest of the evening dancing or mingling around the deck areas and inside. We lucked out and had beautiful weather, so guests we able to be all over the venue, which was nice for those who didn't want to dance. We did set up some high top cocktail tables around the dance floor which helped with guests who didn't want to dance or wanted to set their drinks down. We also set some smaller round tables with chairs in the back room off the Pavilion room for seating for elderly guests during dancing and that worked great.
The only complaint I had was some miscommunications during the planning process. For the most part, the on-site coordinator was very responsive and always got back to me quickly. About a week before the wedding, we were told that our rehearsal the day before would have to start at 3:30pm, as it would have to end by 4pm or we would get locked in because the staff leaves at that time and locks the gates. Originally I had scheduled the rehearsal for 5:00pm, since our rehearsal dinner was to start at 6pm. I thought 3:30pm was a little bit ridiculous, as that would require all of our bridal party to take off work to make it by that time, as well as giving us a huge lapse of time in between the rehearsal and dinner. I'm not sure where the miscommunication came from, but after my dad spoke with Patsy, the coordinator, he was able to move the rehearsal time back to 4:30pm with the promise that we would be out by 5:00pm. It was a little bit stressful to deal with the week before the wedding!
All in all, it was a wonderful place to hold the wedding and we were so happy we picked it. I would highly recommend it!
Ken's is simply the best!! We knew we wanted to use them as soon as we had our wedding venue, we didn't even need to meet with them for an initial consultation. We did meet with Katie to go over details and then had our menu tasting about 5 months before the wedding. The food was out of this world and we got SO many compliments on everything from guests. We did a plated meal of chicken florentine and a crab cake, which everyone raved about. The portion sizes were fantastic and the butler passed hors d'oeuvres were very plentiful during cocktail hour.
We also worked with Jamie during the planning process and she was great about getting back to me right away when I had questions. Even though I was constantly changing things (small details, linen rentals, etc.), she was always quick to email me back and I never felt like she was bothered by my many emails. They handled all the rentals (linens, china, silverware) as well as recommended how much liquor to buy for the wedding. Everything ran SO smoothly the day of and we had the perfect amounts of everything. They set everything up perfectly - they even folded all my napkins into a pocket for our menu cards!
Our day-of banquet manager was Helen and she was phenomenal! She would bring my new husband, myself and the entire bridal party and families drink refills as soon as our drinks ran out and she was always checking in to make sure everything was perfect. All the servers were so friendly and always had a smile on their faces. At the end of the night, we did an exit and took a town car out to the airport to catch our flight the next morning. Helen greeted us at the town car to let us know that they had handled loading all our luggage into the car, as well as prepared a bag of snacks for the hotel. Once we got to the hotel, we were so excited to see 2 full entrees, a huge amount of the hors d'oeuvres, 2 pieces of wedding cake and 2 bottles of champagne, plus a huge box of rose petals!! It was perfect!
I honestly cannot say enough about Ken's - they were spectacular and they made our whole wedding perfect!
Our flowers by Great Expectations by Inka was absolutely gorgeous! They literally took my breath away when I saw them! Inka went above and beyond and I got so many comments from guests on how beautiful everything looked. I literally started crying when I walked out and saw all the flowers!
When we booked her, I gave her a general idea on colors and flowers that I liked and she totally ran with it and created bouquets and centerpieces that were so unique, but exactly perfect! She was able to use lace from my mom's wedding dress to tie around my bouquet, as well as make a very unique Boutonni?re (using a fish hook) for the groom - which she even tied with fishing twine to make it even better than the picture I had showed her! About 2 weeks before the wedding, we met to finalize everything and Inka had SO many great last minute ideas to add to the overall decor. She ended up making 7 wreaths which were placed around the ceremony and cocktail hour and they were beautiful! Her prices were very reasonable as well and she definitely worked within our budget. I was so happy with everything and I absolutely loved working with Inka! I would highly recommend her to anyone!!
Our cake from Fiona's was both beautiful and delicious! We have heard from so many guests that it's the best wedding cake they have ever had! We picked 2 flavors - chocolate cake with chocolate filling and lemon cake with lemon curd. Both were fantastic. I had to drag the groom away from eating 2 pieces the night of the wedding (and he typically doesn't like cake!)
I brought Fiona a picture of a cake I liked when we first met and she was able to perfectly re-create it. I had ribbon around each layer, which I dropped off to her the week before the wedding, as well as some wooden letters of our new monogram to put on the front of the cake. The cake looked exactly like what I pictured in my head.
We used Allison Barnhill Designs for all of our paper products for our wedding and they were all AMAZING! She did our save the dates, invitations, table name signs, programs, menu cards, etc. I loved that everything was completely custom...it makes it so special to have unique items for your wedding!
From the first meeting to talk about the save the dates, she totally "got" what we wanted for the paper products and ran with tons of ideas and colors that all worked perfetly. She would have proofs ready within a day to show us the options for fonts and layouts. After she did the save the dates, she had already pulled a bunch of paper and ribbon samples to show me when I came in for the invitations - and I loved everything she suggested!
We named our tables after fish and I had a hard time finding pictures of each fish to put on each table name card. She helped me research the fish pictures and found several that I loved that we used on the cards. She really went above and beyond with her customer service and she was so pleasant to deal with - always happy and smiling! Definitely one of my favorite vendors - everyone raved about all of our paper accessories and we got TONS of compliments on the invitations!! I would highly recommend Allison Barnhill Designs - She was fantastic!!!
