We were planning the wedding from out of town. The Desmond handled most things through email and phone calls after the initial meeting. They accomodated our travel schedule to make sure that we had a tasting and final meeting when we could both be there. We did not want the typical wedding food. Their chef came up with great alternatives. Everyone raved about the food. The room was beautiful. Someone was always there to make sure that we had everything we needed. I would recommend them too anyone. The are so professional and really go out of their way to make sure your day is special. We also had a room block for our guests. our friends and family were impressed with the rooms and service throughout their stay.
My family is a member at the church, which is why we were married there, by a past minister. The church itself is beautiful. However the current minister is exteremly difficult to work with. He also goes back on his word, so get everything in writing to cover yourself.
Do not be scared off by his website. He is completely professional!!! The pictures came out better than we could have hoped for. He provides us with a proof book, DVD of all the pictures and a written release to print all photos. This makes it very easy to pick photos out and get prints for family very quickly. He has a very artistic style but also does posed pictures. Other than the posed pictures we didn't even know he was there.
We used Rodney. At our first meeting, he helped us determine what flowers would be in season and would go with our colors. He listened to what we were looking for and even put together a sample for us to see. One of the flowers that we wanted for the boutonnieres was not available. He tried severval distributors to no avail. He went ahead and substituted another flower. When he delivered them we let us know the change and that he wouldn't charge us the difference. He was very apologetic, since he had confirmed with the distributors earlier that they would be in.
OMG this is the best wedding cake ever!!! We had a four layer cake, each a different type of cake and filling because we couldn't choose. At our tasting she listened to what we wanted and provided suggestions to meet our needs. Because she is not a big bakery, our cake was exteremely personal. Doris is AWESOME. She altered my wedding dress and one of my bridesmaids. Both came out perfectly. Even with an Australian bustle and five layers underneath. She is exteremely friendly and really takes pride in her work. She is very responsive and flexible with appointments.
Athony was great. And for the grooms out there he puts you before the bride as much as he can:) He spent an hour with us both educating and helping us choose. Everything was exactly as ordered and fit perfectly. Except for one child, who grew a few inches since he was measured to when he had to pick it up. They had him in the right size in no time. Having the online measurement form made it easy for everyone, since only two people were actually able to go in and get measured.
My first appointment was wonderful, lots of personal attention. However on other trips with we felt rushed or someone was working with multiple people at the same time. My mother and bridesmaids all ordered their dresses from Ferri's. And they found the same situation. If you can go during the week you will get much better service, since Saturday is really busy.

Al is a true professional muscian. He was able to take several pieces of music that we wanted in the ceremony and transpose them from the paino to the organ. We received tons of compliments on the music selections. He also suggested several pieces that fit beautifully into our ceremony. Our vocalist meet him at the rehearsal and found him exteremly easy to work with.
Rich was great. He captured all the important moments and alot of things we didn't know about until we got the video. We handled everything over email, phone, and mail because we don't live in the area. The video was wonderful. He even made a 7 minute highlight part, which is great to show people so they don't have to sit through the entire wedding video.
Originally we were just going to have them do our invitations, but as we got closer we also added programs and table numbers, well flowers. We discussed with Allison how we wanted our invitation to set the tone for the whole wedding, which was understated elegance. She came up with five proofs for us. Once we decided on what we wanted she put together a proof for us to approve before printing. We made a few changes that she incorporated within hours. The beautiful sapphire and white metallic flat panel invitations are adorned with a silver satin bow and rhinestone buckle. The invitations were mailed out to the guests in a luxe white mailing box to protect the rhinestone buckle. They also provided us with hand calligraphy address labels for the mailing boxes. The table numbers and programs were just as beautiful. Our florist even commented "those are the most beautiful calligraphy table cards." One note they communicate only by email, phone appointment, and in person. However they are great at responding.

We order the Confetti, which are boxes of four chocolates. Debra worked with us through the process. We placed the order six months ahead of time. Because I wanted the ribbon on our cake to match they sent me ribbons samples of the colors we chose , with the manufactors information so we could order the ribbon for the cake. I got nervous because we had a mix up with one of our other vendors and Debra reassured me everything was correct with the order. The order arrived on the exact day they said it would. They even included a personal card and a few extra just incase anything happened to a few of them in shipping. The box was exteremely well packed so we got to ate the extras. Oh and the chocolate was delicious as always. The boxes had two different colored ribbons so on the table they alternated between silver and navy. Each color ribbon had a different flavor, silver was citrus and navy was roasted.
Rick was the associate minister in my church growing up. He now works at Williams college. He was wonderful. Over the year and half engagement we meet with him 4 times. Each time he worked to get to know us, talk about the ceremony and provide some guidance. The ceremony was not very religous but focused more on love. We received numerous complients. One of my mother strict catholic friends even made the comment, "that was such a beautiful service I might have to become presbyterian."
They showed up early and were extremely professional. We had Champagne on the way back from the ceremony. One tip that our wedding planner gave us, they say they include gratutidy but it is less than 10%, so you probably want to tip them.

We had a couples massage two days before the wedding. The staff was exteremely professional and spa was beautiful. They met us with hot tea before the massage. Each of us got a piece of chocolate on the massage table, which we enjoyed immediately. The massage therapists were great. I like a deeper massage then my husband and we both had the right pressure. Plus it really helped us relax with all the running around and excitement. My bridesmaids and I also went there for manicures and pedicures the day before the wedding. The nail room has the pedicure chairs across from the manicure stations. So we were able to talk the whole time. Everyone loved their mani/pedis. I should let you know that one of the appointments did get switch to an hour earlier when they called to confirm. When I called back they fixed the problem and were very appologetic.

I had a facial the week before and my makeup done the day of the wedding. The facial was relaxing and made my skin look great. Angie was very understanding that I had a wedding in a week and was careful about what products she used. She also mentioned that if I had any spots that need additionaly treatment during the week to call for a 15 minute appointment. I had a makeup trial a few weeks before, so the day of she knew exactly what she would use. It made the experience less stressful because there were no surprises. My mother and sister also had facials and makeup. They were as happy as I was. I saw Paula for waxing. She was great, not painful, and very thorough even plucking a few stray hairs.

I chose Rumors because I knew one of the stylists. I had all my bridesmaids and mom, stepmom, MIL, and Step MIL in at the same time. It was really easy to add a few appointments at the last minute thanks to people changing their minds. Everyone's hair came out beautifully and stayed all night. Maggie did my hair. It came out better than I could have imagined. I was amazed that by the end of the night it was exactly the same as when I left the salon. Word of advice: have a trial run and take lots of pictures. Bring these pictures with you the day over. It really helps the stylist.

Natalie gave me a mani\pedi the week before the wedding and my husband a manicure the day before. It was his first and she put him right at ease. So much so that he is willing to get another:) My manicure last the full week, I got another one right before the wedding. The pedicure was still looking good after 4 weeks, one of which was one the beach and swimming in the ocean. The next time we are in the area we will both be getting manicures, maybe I can even convince my husband that he should try a pedicure too.
April was the best money we spent on the entire wedding!!! Seriously. We hired her for the day of. Through out the process she answered all our questions and provided suggestions on how we could have what we wanted. For example, I do not drink so it was really important to me that my guests have a choice between champagne and sparkling cider. April worked with our reception venue to make sure this happened. She also handled the few bumps that came up throughout the day. Some of which I wasn't even aware until weeks later. She was always responsive the emails and phone calls. She provided us with a preferred vendor list, all of which were outstanding. She has a lot of contacts in the area to help you make your wedding what you want. She was never pushy about her ideas.
Saratoga Photobooth Company Saratoga Springs, New York 12866
Everyone loved the photobooth. One of our friends brought all sorts of hats, which made the pictures even better. We recieved a DVD of every picture and used the book as our guest book. Much more fun than everyone just writing best wishes. Saratoga was easy to work with, did everything through email and phone since we live far away. They were very accomodating when we made a few changes.
