About Me
His family is from the Netherlands, and his culture is very important to him. He has 2 little brothers (Fetzen and Hylke) and 2 little sisters (Syke and Baujke). He was born and raised on a dairy farm and is very much a country guy.

Well my love story actully begins back when I was 13/14 years old.. that was the first time me and Jouwert met. He was my little brothers (Michael) best friend and was always at our house.
Fastforward some years to 2006, I was a freshman in college and was dating a football player from another college, I had bought this guy home once to meet my family and my brother HATED him. That Christmas Michael told me that we were going out and he was going to hook me up with one of his friends, Michael had told me his name Jouwert I knew who he was but it had been a long time since we had really seen eachother (since I lived with my mom and Michael lived with my dad in different states) me and the other guy where already having some problems so I said sure, thinking this will be a nice night on the town.
One of his friends walked though the door with two other girls on his hand and I looked at my brother with a look that could kill thinking what the heck is this.. he set me up with a pimp :) lol.. Michael quickly introced him and everything was ok, next we went to the stop where we were meeting everyone elsa including Jouwert.. I kept looking out for him wondering what he looks like now.. Another guy pulls up and out stepped a nice looking guy I was impressed but nope not Jouwert
We decided to leave there and head to the resturant that we were eating at and Jouwert told Michael that he would meet us there well I ended up on a dinner date with my little brother because he was late.. (as you tell this guy was not earning any points) Michael called him and told him we were done and about to head to the party and where the heck was he.. he was on his way
Ok here is where my price charming comes into the picture...
As we were exiting the building this big red and white truck pulls up and out steps this very tall, brown hair, green eyed man.. I was shocked and all we could do is look at eachother.. It had been a long time for both of us. The group talked a little bit before we left for the party and that whole time Jouwert did not say one word to me.. When we were all getting ready to leave for the party Michael showes me towards Jouwerts truck and tells me to go with him.. Sure whatever go with this hot guy that I have talked more than 5 word to the whole night.. thanks lil bro.. :)
We talked a little bit on the way there just the normal boring stuff (how was college going for me, how was his senior year for him, family, dairy, etc)
Ok so I told yall this was near Christmas about a week and to say the least the weather was a little bit cold (it had gotten down to the 30s that night, and for Texas that is cold) Oh course this party was outside, and me being me was really cold.. So Jouwert offerered me his big jacket while he sat in just a long sleeved shirt.. Next he also bought over a heater just for us.. We talked that whole night and on the way home tring to catch up on everything..
That was almost 3 years ago and everyday I see how much he means to me and how much I love him

The Ring
My ring right now is the promise ring he gave me back in 2007.. It is shaped like a past, present, future ring, and is very simple. I love it so much because of the words that he promised me when he gave it to me. It will always have a special place in my heart. We are planning on purchasing our actual rings when it gets closer to the wedding.
Our Wedding Plans
Our wedding plans are simple country with alot of fun in it.. My FH is a dairyman and us and alot of our friends and family on live on farms so we didnt want anything to fancy. I love how are wedding is going to look and to see it grow more and more like what is in my head each day.
Our Planning Experience
Our planning experience has been a little topsy turvy. From buying my dress, checking the ceremony/reception location out, and getting a general ideal what we want all before my mom left to afganistian to being on a hold till she gets back (I really want her by my side). We have done some other things while she was gone like work and send out our save the date cards, to finalizing the cake look, and finalizing some other details for the wedding. Working with my future mother in law has been interesting because she is stuck in how she would do things and wants them to stay that way, while me and Jouwert are wanting to do it our way. Even with that we have received alot of support and help from our family and friends.
Our Advice
Give yourself plently of time to plan your wedding out, I would save more then a year is a good enough time. That way you are not frecking out and you have time to find things that are on sale, etc. Also me and my FH have been living together for almost 2 years and have learned so much about eachother I recommend doing this if possible so that you know everything about the other person good or bad before you make that walk down the aisle.
