Using The Chart House in Annapolis as both our ceremony and reception site was fantastic. The food was above and beyond the taste and quality of any food selection that a hotel would offer. And portion size was more than adequate. Our guests were able to chose their meal when they sat at the table, which was a big selling point for us.
The decor, atmosphere and service was perfect. During the event, the catering manager ensured smooth and tasteful transition and managed the rest of our vendors professionally.
We gave 3 stars for flexibility because the venue is only open to weddings during the day; at night they are open to the public for business. That being said, as long as the reception was wrapped up by 4pm, the staff arrived as early as needed to prepare for an 11am ceremony.
For cost, we paid for food and drinks. The cost of the food was very reasonable but for the drinks, it would have been much more economical to have an open bar rather than a consumption bar.
If we were getting married again, we would certainly use The Chart House in Annapolis. Great food, great service and perfect scenery.

We didn't actually hire Andrea, she assisted the photographer that we hired. However, some of our favorite shots were actually from her. And when the photographer that we hired stopped returning our calls, she answered the phone and talked to us, always assuring us that everything would work out fine.
If this review was based solely on her photography skills, she would receive high marks, however, it is based on her as a vendor. Her professionalism, quality of service, photos, everything, were perfect. Highly recommended.
Working with Chris, initially we were pleased. He seemed nice, friendly, responsive, honest in addition to talented. He even asked if we would help out with a wedding magazine that he was putting together and we'd get the finished product for free. Honestly, we thought that we had found the best photographer around.
As contractually obligated, we paid in full before the wedding. He showed up on time with an assistant (who turned out to be as talented or more than Chris). We had a day time wedding, which he attended entirely, from 7am and even two hours after the wedding for more pictures. He even posted the pictures on collages.net before we returned from our honeymoon. And that was the last time we heard from Chris for months - 6 months to be exact. We called, emailed, drove to his house, checked message boards, and we found we weren't alone. A few other couples were posting messages online about this disappearing photographer.
After 6 months and threatening to cancel our credit card payment, we received our digital proofs in the mail. Although he was apologetic, we wouldn't recommend his services because not hearing from him (even an email stating "I'm busy but will get back to you soon" would have been good) for that period of time seemed unprofessional.
While a greatly talented photographer who offered a great price, we were not pleased at the end of the process because of the lack of communication. The pictures that we did receive were well taken. All we're saying is buyer beware.
Black Eyed Susan Florist was great to work with. Easy to talk to, helped up even with our last minute changes. Arrived to the reception site on time and made the place look great.
Afie & Eric did a wonderful job with our wedding cakes, which were one of the highlights of our wedding! We were both so excited when we saw the crabs for the first time - they were much bigger and more life like than we imagined they would be. We received so many compliments from our guests, and the cakes tasted great! Afie was a pleasure to work with and she incorporated all of the details that we requested. Thanks again for a wonderful job!
My experience with Venus Bridal was not a pleasant one overall. Although quoted one price on the phone for price matching and various alterations, the actual prices were much higher. I felt rushed and left the store several times feeling bullied, of course after I had already purchased the dress. Alterations were not done right the first time (that is of course is expected, I know) or the second time. In fact, they still weren't correct when I picked it up 2 days before my wedding but it was too late at that point to do much of anything. The chest wasn't fitted correctly, if it was taken in at all, and thus the top of my strapless dress was sticking out all day and you could see the cups they sewed in because it was so loose. Thankfully they waist was taken in suffciently to keep the dress up! I opted for the hallow-to-hem measurement for the length but it came in too long. To be fair, when I ordered it they said it may not be exact, but they measured me in the same exact size (2 inch) heels I wanted to wear with the dress, and the dress came back well over an inch (if not 2) longer than ordered. I can understand measurements being slightly off, but this was a bit much. I didn't lose or gain any weight, nor did I shrink :) I ended up wearing 3 inch heels and the dress was still dragging a lot, especially as the day wore on. This was even with a crinoline slip worn underneath to try and add bulk underneath to raise it up. After I received the dress I chose not to have it hemmed because it would have been so expensive on top of everything else. I do not recommend Venus Bridal because their customer service wasn't good and their alteration service wasn't good either. I'm dissapointed that my wedding gown buying experience wasn't a pleasurable one, so I wanted to share my experience to hopefully help other brides-to-be!

Chris was easy to work with, professional and patient. He sent a DJ to our venue who matched our wedding personality very well. In fact, we had a "tricky" situation with the garter belt (caught by a 15 year old) and the bouquet (caught by the flower girl) that the DJ handled professionally and humorously. Highly recommended.
Rev Hope McNew is so easy to work with. She met us when we needed to be met, she helped us work out our ceremony, even providing changes and fixes up to the week of the wedding. She really was the easiest of all of the people that we worked with for our wedding. We recommend her services to anybody; from traditional wedding to the most contemporary.
We didn't book Towne Transport until the last minute because we honestly forgot. They were able to accommodate us, arriving early, in exactly what we needed.
Created a custom wedding band that matched a very ornate engagement band. And they did so in a limited amount of time. Although they negotiated slightly on the cost, obviously it was still expensive.
All the same, we highly recommend their custom jewelry.
We rented a dance floor. Very nice on the phone. Great product. We were happy. The flexibility received 3.5 stars because it cost extra for a weekend delivery and pickup. Overall, though, top notch. I definitely recommend this vendor.
