Danielle at East Side Mario's restaurant is fantastic to work with. She HANDS DOWN knows the ropes in regards to catering weddings and often guided me through common questions and concerns that brides and grooms have. She was easily accessible through email or phone and provided beyond stellar service on the actual wedding day. And to top it off, the food (filet mignon, salmon, and a vegetarian pasta dish) was excellent, the wait staff very friendly and helpful, ANDDD the price was by far the best in town. One of our favorite vendors -- we highly recommend Danielle and ESM Catering!!
CHEVON's SWEET CREATIONS Riverside, California 92501
** PLEASE NOTE CHEVON HAS SINCE TAKEN DOWN THIS STORE FRONT AND CREATED A SEPARATE ONE, IN EFFECT ERASING MY NEGATIVE REVIEW -- DO NOT BE FOOLED**
I hired Chevon to create a simple but elegant wedding cake for my May 2009 wedding. My budget did not allow for extravagant fondant flowers and her $2/serving pricing was right up my alley. She would respond to emails at 2AM in the morning and provided delicious cake samples at our first meeting. I gave her my $30 deposit to lock in the date. That is when the service started to falter. Her claim to being available "at all times" was often met with claims of being too busy for prompt responses. Her emails became harder to understand, typed like one long run on sentence. As all brides do, I started to change my mind about how the cake would like or how many servings I would need. Instead of drafting a new contract, Chevon simply crossed out her notes and wrote new ones. I later found out she was trying to implement a past design at the wedding because her notes were outdated, and she was very rude to my future mother in law who knew what the new cake design was supposed to be. I also started to notice that many of the cake photos she sent me were not her own... either taken from The Knot or other websites. Even the picture featured on her business card is a cake I found off a website from a baker in Arizona. I'm not here to bash Chevon or her business... she is a nice lady and can make delicious cakes. But if you want a beautiful cake that is worthy of the expensive photographer you hired, you should probably look elsewhere. I, unfortunately, had to learn the hard way. My cake was missing a tier (although no refund would be given for that missing tier), the tiers were uneven, and the frosting design looked like an amateur had piped it on. This coming from a professional who claims to be able to replicate any cake -- just show her the picture. The only reason I am giving any type of star is due to the taste of Chevon's cakes (which were very good, especially if you have want a rich tasting cake) and her service prior to our deposit. It pretty much went downhill from there. You get what you pay for I guess.... feel free to contact me if you would like photographic evidence or more information. I honestly wouldn't have taken out this much time to write out a review if I didn't feel so strongly about how poorly my cake turned out.
Stuart and the other guys of Magical Mystery Tour provided fantastic entertainment for our wedding. As most weddings do, ours ran a little behind schedule; MMT was completely professional in adjusting their playset to the new timeline. Stuart has also been very prompt and professional via email leading up to the wedding date. This band had to be one of the best aspects of our wedding - well worth the money! Your guests will thank you!

We were initially thinking of using our iPod for ceremony music but on the insistence of my mother in law for live ceremony music, we were so fortunate to stumble upon one of the best harpist around - Alfredo Rolando Ortiz. At first, we were sure the talented Alfredo would be out of our price range but he had surprisingly reasonable rates. He even invited us to his home for a free demonstration which was spectacular. Alfredo is an extremely personable person and although busy (lots of concerts), was able to accommodate our needs. Alfredo can play classical pieces (such as the wedding march), but we especially favored his original compositions which were so beautiful. We highly recommend Alfredo to all engaged couples - excellent, excellent musician and very nice man.
Bluenile.com has to be one of my favorite online businesses in regards to their quality products at reasonable prices as well as their superb customer service. To those who are afraid of buying something so expensive without even seeing it first - have no fear! Brush up on your diamond education and you'll be sure to find a ring that costs much, much less than any brick and mortar store in the mall without suffering in quality. Bluenile customer service reps are also beyond helpful if you're still unsure and you can always return it within 30 days. My 1 carat platinum engagement ring (with the diamond to our specifications of course) is beautiful and I have no reservations about the quality whatsoever.
Ari, Ali, Asal and everyone else at Persiano Events really helped to make our wedding possible. We booked with Persiano without really having a concrete idea of complementary table linen colors, etc. and Ari gave us beautiful suggestions and worked within our budget as best as he could. We were pleased with his outstanding service and flexibility and very much appreciated the hard work he and his staff put in to our event. Many thanks Ari!
