Meadowlark is the most beautiful venue in the NoVa area, and it provided the perfect backdrop for an amazing reception. Our photos look magnificent with the backdrop of the garden, and the Atrium is simply magical. Almost every single guest commented on how amazing the location was! Bernadette was easy to work with... since it's so popular, they are fairly strict about when you can arrive to take your photos, but they worked with our timetable to make sure we captured everything we wanted!
Fusions is the best "bang for your buck" here in the DC area. When we first met with them for our tasting, we fell in love not only with their unique food and amazing tastes, but also with the owners of the company, Jim and Blaise. They are so relaxed and easy to work with, and present such an amazing product at the end of the day. You end up wanting to just hang out with them! Our guests were absolutely floored with the food, particularly the passed appetizers during cocktail hour. The unique presentations and combinations of flavors blew everyone away, and gave that high class taste that we were looking for at an incredibly reasonable budget. I can't imagine that any other caterer in the DC area can offer the assortment of unique tastes combined with the incredible people.
Rachel is amazing. The day we returned from our honeymoon, just eight days after our wedding, we already have access to the 1400 pictures she had taken on our wedding day. Rachel found a way to capture every moment of the day without being intrusive at all. She knew how to get the shots we were looking for, and kept the mood light and people happy so folks didn't stiffen up during the array of formal poses. We got a little behind schedule, and Rachel sped up the process without compromising the integrity of the photos she took. She has an amazing talent of capturing the emotion behind the photo, and getting people who may not be naturally photogenic (including myself, the bride!) to relax and look amazing. I plan to use Rachel for any future photographic needs, as she is simply phenomenal.
There is no comparison for Rocio and her talent. We approached her with a unique request; a quirky mad-hatter style cake using several shades of the same color, and not using fondant. While dozens of other bakers turned us away, Rocio welcomed the challenge! We sat down with her and designed our dream cake, completely with unique details and specifically color matches. When we walked into our reception site the day of our wedding, I literally started to cry I was so happy at the results. She had captured everything beautifully and turned our hand-drawn sketched into a masterpiece. To back up her design skills is the fact that this is the best cake you will ever taste! I'm a bride with a sweet tooth, and I know my cake, but she has the creamiest frosting and the most divine cake flavors. My husband and I are already considering eating the top tier just so we can have some more!
Angie has quite the internet reputation, and I was excited to get appointments with her during the busy summer wedding season. She is incredibly affordable, but more importantly has the innate sense to realize what a bride wants changed about her dress, even when the bride can't verbalize it! She altered my dress wonderfully, and I felt like the perfect princess for my wedding day. My only negative comment about dealing with Angie was when we took the wedding dress out of the bag the day of the wedding, the train was incredibly wrinkled and there was a significant amount of dirt on the back of the dress. It was at her house the entire time, so I'm not sure what happened... but thankfully we had a steamer with us and some skilled bridesmaids to clean the dirt stains! All in all though, it was a good experience, and I would recommend her to other brides.
Jake was simply amazing... we couldn't have asked for a better DJ! He played exactly the type of music we wanted, and was a great emcee for the event without being overly intrusive. He worked the room well, handled the scheduling changes easily, and simply did a marvelous job. Our dance floor was packed the entire night, which is the best thing we could ask for! Thanks for everything Jake!
Myra and her team of superstars certainly earned their paycheck the day of our wedding. As an event planner by trade, I questioned the need for a day of wedding coordinator, but figured it would be best to have someone else wearing that hat the day of our wedding. Myra and her team made sure the room was set up perfectly, the guests were happy and entertained, and put out the small fires that arose during the evening (metaphorically). When we were running 45 minutes behind schedule, they scurried us along so we could make up some lost time, all the while making sure that they weren't stressing us out. When my bustle continued to fall apart, they followed me back to the bridal room to pin it up, regardless of how many times it happened! They took the weight off my shoulders to handle the logistics for the day and made our wedding perfect and enjoyable for all. For such an extremely reasonable price, any DC bride would be silly not to utilize her services... because she'll ensure that your wedding is the fairy tale you've always imagined.
