Reception site:
Very beautiful and spacious. Many compliments from all of our guest. Only problem people might encounter is multiple parties on the same night. We have two other weddings right next to our ballroom. Our wedding start 2 hours later than the other two so we didn't have problem with inside space.

Food: We have filet mignon & salmon combo. From several feedback from our guest, the food tasted very bland and that they have to go out to eat afterward.

Open bar: Our friends said they can barely taste the alcohol in the drinks. We were told they were a bit thrifty with their alcohol.

Service before the wedding: Great! They were always available for questions.

Service during the wedding: Feedback from our guests from several tables said that they rarely see the waiter or get response for their small requests. We had also ordered chicken for 2 of the kid's table and it was delivered incorrectly to several adult tables. Both of the kid tables that were suppose to get chicken got filet mignon & salmon. I was notified during the reception and had asked them to fix it, but they never did.

Mayram was great!!!! She had made this process so much easier for me since I didn't really know what I wanted. She gave many many great advice and suggestions even on non-floral related topics. She was very flexible when it comes to changes of idea, quantity, and even the theme of the wedding.

Price: I have searched all over town for the right price. Hers is the best in term of value for cost. I have many great compliments from our guest forthe ceremony and reception site decor.

Very easy to make appointments or walk-ins. Very professional, friendly, and helpful.
Cost: My wedding dress price was right because I have checked all over and it was the price they had listed it for.
Alteration: I felt this was a bit too expensive. Advise to get quote from other places before starting the alteration with them. Also my bustle came off so many times during the reception because the strings made for the bustle would not told the train.
You really do need 6 months for the dress to come so give yourself time for any bridal dress ordering.

We wanted a vietnamese band that can sing both vietnamese songs as well as American songs so both our parent's generation and our generation can enjoy. They were flexible with all of our song request.

Excellence turn around time. Very easy to contact and responsive to any adjustments needed.

The quality of the invitation did not come out the way i hope it would. The color for my invitations were different from the sample that was mailed to me (instead of gold it looked brown).

Designing process: The theme for my wedding was orchids and butterfly. They did not design the orchid flower for my invite. Instead they kept on sending me a different style of orchid they have used before on their past invitations. We have to put down a deposit before the designing process begin so there was nothing I can do.

I highly recommend this vendor if you want a design that they already have. I would not recommend this vendor if you are looking for something different and unique to your theme.

Our wedding was scheduled at 4:30pm. She was 15 min late to our wedding at 4:45pm. My husband was so scared. All of us were stressed because we didn't know what was going to happen. We let everything go since she did show up and we did have our celebration and everything was fine. Then after the wedding I got an email from her explaining why she was late and paste a portion of an email she sent to the wedding planner (which was never received) that she will be coming at 4:30 since the ceremony start at 5pm. When we met up with her 2 weeks prior to the wedding we told her the ceremony start 4:30 (as indicated on our invitation that we handed her that day).

Georgiana Atkins-Havill responded with the the following comments:
This bridal pair is a really, lovely couple who first contacted me in January for their July wedding. Even from the original booking, the start time was made very clear to me, and even a second time in their follow-up Jan. 9 email to me: "Again the date is July 25th 2009 at 5pm at the Woodlawn Plantation." When we later had our first face-to-face meeting in March, it was explained to me in person that even though the invitation being mailed out to the guests would say 4:30--my part would begin at 5pm, as they had special traditional cultural events occurring first. When we met a second time on July 11 to practice their vows, diagram the processional, the seating and such, they did hand me the invitation that did say 4:30. In the midst of all the discussion, asking, and answering of questions, I do not recall their mentioning the time for me had changed. It's quite possible that they did say it, but I missed hearing it in the middle of all we were trying to achieve. However, on July 23rd, two days before the ceremony, their day-of planner contacted me by email. Quote: "I am Anh and Nghi's Day of Coordinator for their July 25th wedding. We are finalizing the timeline and needed to verify your arrival time. Also, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns or if you have any special requests, needs, etc. I will send you a copy of the timeline to view once we are finished with the details. I look forward to meeting you!" I instantly answered: (the large typeface below is also accurate :) "Good day! I always arrive at least a half hour early--and since we've sat and planned on two different occasions--this should be more than enough advance time :) So with a ceremony start of 5pm, look for me about 4:30pm (Indeed, my family will have already gone to Bethany Beach, but because of this commitment, I am staying behind a day--BUT--looking forward to this!! Georgiana Atkins Havill PS: BTW, are you the one who'll have my 'envelope?' Thanks!" On July 25, enroute to their distant wedding site (41 to 55 minutes from my home), I got a call from that planner wondering where I was. "On my way," naturally was my reply. "I should get there about 4:30 or so." That's when she said that the ceremony start-time for my part had been changed. On hearing that, I nearly drove off the road! Immediately I tried to think of perhaps a faster way to get there, and turned off the main way--and my journey then actually took longer than it should have. It was sad to me to later learn that the groom was also so panicked. Typically, a planner would have assured him that I was literally on the way and would arrive very soon. Things happen at ceremonies--they're just like real life. I've been at weddings where the power failed--which meant no music or lights, and that's for starters. I was very, very sorry to read of his anxiety that day, which I hope disappeared once the ceremony actually got underway at 4:45, fifteen minutes after the invitation time. Naturally, brides and grooms are nervous. I hope when all is said and done that all they (and their guests) recall, will be the beautiful weather, the gorgeous bride and flowers, happy families, the reception, and of course, perhaps the delivery of the words I had written for them. When I got back home, I searched my computer for the email message the planner said she'd sent me. I did find it--in the spam section--which said literally, "Hi Georgiana, The ceremony is actually starting at 4:30pm. The start time had gotten moved up by a half hour. I believe one of the bridesmaids will be handing the "envelopes." :)" Very technically, the planner had done her job accurately--but not thoroughly. When she failed to hear back from me to confirm whether or not I'd actually seen this important correction of the time, she, prudently should have doublechecked with me by follow-up email and then a phone call if needed. It would have been a happier, relaxed ending for both the couple and me. I was feeling really shaken up, too, and that also could have been avoided. (For the record, I never did receive the promised timeline.) There is an excellent lesson here for all of us about imperative email messages. They're like throwing a ball over a 12-foot wall. You don't know if they've been caught unless it's pitched back to you. Always, for this darling couple and my near-3,000 others, my goal is to make sure that their ceremonies are as wonderfully memorable to the couple and their guests as are their receptions. I tell them, this is why everyone has purchased plane tickets, booked hotel rooms, traveled far, bought new clothes, and arranged sitters--not to have another nice meal and dance--but to see them get married. That is what we are all celebrating. Georgiana Atkins Havill
