We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Vandiver Inn and everything was 100% perfect. I literally would not change a thing, and I doubt many people can say that about their wedding. There are so many good things I don't know where to start.
First, their coordinator Chasi is the BEST. Every step of they way, from the day we booked to the morning after the wedding, she is always there helping you and making sure things go smoothly. She is so much fun and as excited about your wedding as you are. The day of the wedding, she was feeding me fruit as I was getting my hair and makeup done, bringing us hors d'oeuvres while we were getting our pictures done during cocktail hour so we wouldn't miss all the good food, and constantly filling our wine glasses during the reception...they didn't go empty once! John and Susan, the owners, are just as helpful and always respond quickly to any calls/emails and go out of their way to make sure you don't have any questions/problems.
Second, the food is AWESOME. Susan's cooking was wonderful. We had crabcakes and beef tenderloin and almost every single guest said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. She is a GREAT cook. We had gone to some of their public dinners before our wedding and no matter what we had, it was always delicious.
Third, it was so convenient having the ceremony, reception, and guestrooms all in one place. The inn/mansion itself is very beautiful. All of the guestrooms have a lot of character...so much prettier than a regular hotel room. We had our ceremony outside in garden area, but they do have a pavilion as a backup in case the weather doesn't cooperate. The reception in the pavilion is comfortable and casual, but still very elegant. We got a lot of great pictures in and around the mansion.
Our wedding was absolutely wonderful, thanks to Vandiver and the staff. I cannot say enough good things. Book early though, the dates fill up fast, but you will be so happy at how it all turns out.
Our wedding cake from Desserts by Rita's was not only very beautiful but also very delicious! Many guests commented that it was one of the best tasting wedding cakes they had ever had. The cake is so moist and there are a variety of flavors so you don't have to have plain old white cake. At our tasting, we tried several types and decided on the bottom tier lemon, the middle tier chocolate raspberry, and the top tier was a combo of both (I can't wait to eat it on our one year anniversary!) Cindy is very easy to work with and really knows what she is doing. I gave her a basic idea of what I wanted (like what colors), but told her to do what she thought was best, and it turned out so much better than what I could have imagined on my own...so don't be afraid to give her some artistic freedom. The cake was decorated beautifully with pink "ribbon" around the bottom of each tier and light green details. Also, Cindy used some hydrangeas in between the layers which was the perfect touch. I am going to start getting our every occasion cakes (birthday, etc) there because they are really delicious!!! I HIGHLY recommend getting your wedding cake (and any other cakes) here!
I was very happy with my dress and alterations from Brides & Grooms. I had found a certain Maggie Sottero dress online and called about 10 stores in my area trying to find a store that had a sample of it in stock, and they were the only ones who had it...and, best of all, their dress price was over $100 cheaper than other places I called. To be honest, it's probably not a store I would've just seen from the street and gone into...it's a little small and in a strip mall, but please don't let that scare you off. They have a great selection of dresses and were always very friendly and helpful. They ordered my dress and did the alterations and pressing. They actually got the alterations done in ONE night!! My dress fit like a glove and everyone at the wedding said it was gorgeous and fit amazing. I saw some other reviews said they aren't very responsive, but I never had that problem. They called as soon as my dress came in, and were always flexible on appointment times. I didn't feel like they tried to gouge me on alterations, which I had happen several times at other stores where I'd gotten bridesmaid dresses in the past. Marie was especially great to work with. If you don't care about having a big, fancy store and care more about good prices, good quality, and not as many frills, then I would definitely give them a try.

Emily played the harp before/during/after my wedding ceremony and she was GREAT. From the minute I contacted her, she was wonderful to work with. She is VERY fast responding to emails and calls. If you get quotes from other harpists (or any type of ceremony musician) in the area, you'll find that her prices are very reasonable. I didn't want the traditional "Here Comes the Bride" wedding march, so she met with me for a free consultation where she played samples of several songs so I could pick exactly what I liked for each section of the ceremony (prelude, processional, rose ceremony, recessional, etc). I only wish that I could've gotten to hear more of it, but I had to be back in another area while guests were coming in so I didn't get to hear much of her pre-ceremony playing, but guests told me the music was beautiful. My wedding was outdoors and it was easy to hear her, she provides her own sound system if you need amplification. I think the harp added the perfect touch and set the mood from the minute guests came in. I highly recommend Emily!!! You will NOT be disappointed. Robbin did both my hair and makeup and it was absolutely PERFECT. I received sooo many compliments and it photographed beautifully. We had done a few trials beforehand because I had kept changing my mind on if I wanted my hair up or down, and Robbin was so understanding and tried different looks for me to make sure we got it just right. I am someone who never wears much makeup and she knows just how to make you look great while still looking natural. It was so convenient and stress-free having her come and do it on location. She is fun to work with and a great, happy attitude. I was MORE than 100% satisfied with Robbin. I can't even put into words how happy I was with both my hair AND makeup. I definitely recommend her...book early to make sure you can get her!!
