We fell in love with Ceresville just from the pictures, and I was worried that when we visited the reality wouldn't live up to our expectations. Trust me, it's even more beautiful than the pictures can convey. If you are looking for a venue that goes beyond the usual bland catering hall, visit Ceresville. The service was wonderful, and everyone we worked with could not have been nicer. Jenni Meisner, the sales manager and our consultant, made sure everything was FLAWLESS, and I don't use that word lightly. In addition to making sure everything at Ceresville went smoothly, she made suggestions about vendors when I was lost, incorporated family traditions, and made sure that we had nothing to do on our wedding day but show up. Chef Tom--wow. People are still raving about the food. He even made sure that we had a selction of appetizers from the cocktail hour sent up as we were getting ready to come downstairs again, so that we had a chance to try eveything before being overwhelmed with the guests. Everything was sensational, from the hors d'oevres to the meal, and the first thing eveything said to us was "Oh, my God, have you tried this? Uh, you look great, by the way." Our relatives mostly drove down from NY or flew in to BWI from California, and the location was not an area they knew very well, but everyone commented all weekend on how beautiful the area was, how beautiful Ceresville was, and how perfect everything turned out. Thank you so much for making our wedding perfect!

Some women have been dreaming of their wedding days since they were in kindergarten, and have always known exactly what they wanted for their dress, flowers, etc. I had no idea. Matt was incredibly patient with me, and helped me figure out not only what I liked, but what suited the occasion and the people involved. He always kept our budget in mind, and was amazing at figuring out how to get the looks I thought I wanted, even though I have no idea what any of the flowers are called and could only vaguely describe shapes and colors. We even had a "bouquet fitting" where I had the chance to see what the bouquet would look like, and Matt listened to me change my mind yet again about colors and table decor. The final result? Perfection. It was exactly what I wanted, and everything was stunning. My bouquet, the bridesmaids' bouquets, the groomsmen's boutonnieres, the nosegays for the mothers, headbands for the flower girls, the arrangements for the ceremony and reception...it was all perfect. The flowers were amazingly fresh, the arrangements were breathtaking, the colors were spectacular. Matt is a genius!

I wish I could post a picture here to show you how beautiful the cake was. It was even more delicious than it was pretty, though. It's a good thing that the kitchen staff had the foresight to cut small pieces, because people wanted to try every layer, so I think jest about everyone had multiple servings. We were so dazzled at the tasting, but we finally decided on a layer of chocolate cake with strawberry mousse, a layer of vanilla cake with lemon Bavarian cream, and a layer of red velvet cake with cream cheese. With their mouths still full, people raved to us that this was the best cake they had ever eaten. There were literally only three slices left over, which were wrapped for us to take home from the wedding. I put them in the freezer, since we were leaving on our honeymoon the next day. Two weeks later, when we returned, I took a slice out of the freezer and we shared a slice. We agreed that it was still the best cake we'd ever eaten, although he likes the chocolate better and I love the lemon.

Additionally, Victoria could not have been nicer. We'd been to several wedding shows in search of cake, and endured many attitudes from people didn't deliver, had limited options, and thought of themselves as artists who were forced to interact with the public. Victoria was friendly, helpful, and the cake was...wow! Moist, perfectly flavored, sweet without being cloying. And it looked so beautiful! We went with something simple, but elegant. My husband (I love saying that!) is having a birthday next month, and I offered to go back to Happy Eatery for a cake for his party. He practically drooled in response.

I cannot say enough good things about Steve Hoffman. He took our vague ideas about the kind of music we wanted, and added his expertise and creativity to come up with music for both the ceremony and reception. He listened to everything we said and made helpful suggestions, and he made our vision come true into a beautiful wedding. Our entrance music was fun, classy, and perfect. The cocktail music was ideal--fun without being at all intrusive. And the dancing music at the reception? The dance floor was NEVER empty. If we didn't have a time limit for the reception hall, I think people would have stayed and danced all night. Many of the guest have commented to me since then that this was the most fun they've ever had at a wedding, and Steve was a huge part of that.

We went to The Dandelion Patch in Reston Town Center. I think we must have gone back five or six times, since we weren't sure exactly what we wanted, and had trouble deciding on the perfect design with so much to choose from. They were endlessly patient and helpful. Our invitations were exactly what we wanted, and we got so may compliments on all of the wedding stationary. We also came in far under budget or waht we expected to spend, for really incredible quality.
