The country club itself was wonderful, able to accomodate everything we wanted for our guests and accomodated our outside vendors (DJ, florist, etc.) We loved the outside balcony space with the view of the golf course. We also liked the buffet placed outside the main ballroom because the line and clean up didn't distract attention from the reception events. The food was even more delicious than it was at our tasting and everything turned out exactly how we had planned it with the staff at Pecan Grove.
What made Pecan Grove the absolute perfect venue for us was the staff. Sarah Blancett, the catering director at Pecan Grove CC, is a bride's dream. She was incredibly flexible and very attentive. She always made us feel like we were her only client and her service on the night of the wedding was just as professional and thorough as her attention to planning our event had been. Especially if you're going it without a planner, you can have the event of your dreams at Pecan Grove CC with Sarah's help.
Lori did an IMPECCABLE job on the flowers for our ceremony and reception. After meeting with a dozen florists from all over the Houston area, we finally found what the creativity we'd been looking for at Special Arrangements. We got married in Richmond and Lori was so easy to work with, even with the distance between us. During our consultation, Lori spent hours with us helping me realize my floral dreams for our wedding. I completely trust her and she didn't let us down. She went above & beyond what we expected from a florist. She also personally invested herself in seeing what we wanted come to life and I'm so grateful Lori was able to do the flowers for our wedding. The bouquets were just perfect and Lori was super flexible- she even made time to make a small addition to my bouquet the day of the wedding. The specific flowers I wanted weren't ideal for the season we married in, but Lori did everything she could to keep our flowers looking fresh. And it was more than enough- the bouquets lasted for nearly a week after the wedding! They looked beautiful from the minute she arrived before the ceremony until the last dance was done. I would absolutely recommend Lori and Special Arrangements- her floral creations had such an impact on the feel of my wedding and Lori's creativity and expertise is to thank.
Both our bride & groom's cakes were delicious and the presentation was fantastic. The only complaint I had was with their inflexibility with the delivery time- after initially setting it, we were unable to move the time even after two phone calls. Other than that little problem, they provided acceptable service and I would use them again.
Their staff is attentive, professional, knowledgable and very patient. I actually fell in love with my dress at another bridal salon, but found it at Houston Bridal and Formal Gallery for considerably less. My whole experience with Houston Bridal and Formal Gallery was more than ideal and their in-house streamstress did an excellent job on my wedding dress alterations! I attended their veilings show case and ordered a head piece from the vendor they'd brought in and it was also just what I wanted- everyone I met at Houston Bridal and Formal seemed interested in making sure I left completely satisfied! I would recommend Houston Bridal and Formal Gallery to every bride in Houston.
Jamie and Tish went above and beyond anything we asked/expected of them. Their service the day of the wedding blew us away and we credit this husband/wife team with keeping our reception flowing and making sure each guest had a great time. Jamie and Tish were the first people I saw at the reception venue and they both got busy right away making the reception a seamless success! Once we'd had time to relax for a second, Jamie got the bridal party in order to be introduced and Tish made sure my husband and I had everything we needed throughout the night. The music was just what I wanted and Jamie even called me the week of the wedding to go over the music selections I'd submitted to them. It's so easy for wedding vendors to just take orders and do what is minimally acceptable, but Jamie and Tish exceeded every hope I had for a DJ and I would recommend them to anyone who needed a DJ for their wedding. They were AMAZING and I'm so thankful for JM Productions for making my reception such a memorable occassion.

They did an excellent job on my hair/makeup at the trial and for my bridal portraits, but the service and end product on my wedding day was unsatisfactory and NOT what I had experienced on the two previous occasions I had used them.
My up-do had started to come undone by the middle of the reception and my makeup didn't photograph well in the professional photographs of our wedding. In photos, I don't look like I have any makeup on and my eye makeup had majorly faded. During the trial and bridal portrait session, my lead artist took her time, but on the day of the wedding by the time it was my Mom & I's turn, the lead artist & her assistant seemed exhausted and ready to go.
While I was very happy with their service on the two occasions I used them prior to my wedding, I was severly disappointed with my hair and makeup on my big day.
