Stephano and I went to college together, but back then, I wasn’t such a big fan of his. It was over something really trivial, but I pegged him as someone he wasn’t and held onto that notion all throughout school and for 10 years thereafter, but the universe had different things in store for us because we kept bumping into each other. First, at my brother’s graduation 2 years after our own. His sister & my brother went to the same college together just as we did. What are the odds? So, I bumped into him at a party during the graduation weekend. If I recall correctly, we hardly had much to say to each other, but my dad thought it was a Kodak moment and took a picture of us. I’m so glad he did because I love that picture. A few years later, we ended up hanging out together one Friday night when I was visiting friends in NYC over Valentine’s Day weekend. We hung out all night, but we hardly spoke to each other again.
Fast forward to 2004, Stephano sent me a friendster note saying he’s moving to VA from NY and wanted to catch up. It was such an unexpected, but pleasant surprise. It wasn’t until then that we finally started to get to know each other and everything somehow seemed so different. And the rest as they say is history.
The Ring
I love my ring. It’s a round solitaire in a tiffany setting. Very simple and elegant and beautiful and comfortable! Love it.
I am so glad you had such a smashing wedding it is a shame you never got to meet me in person but have tried to bash my reputation every chance you get because you feel I did not get to do your wedding day make-up. I work very hard on guest relations and think you should understand how our facility works. First you called and made a reservation for a future date to have a trial and gave your wedding date to be. It is our policy that guests understand that when someone makes a reservation for a trial they too understand that the longer they wait the more likly I am to get reserved by someone else. I am sorry you took it so personal and felt I had a more important guest then yourself. I am a spanish and pride myself on equality so all people are equal. It just so happens that another bride to be had a reservation and had her trial and secured my servcies before you even made it in for the trial. Thanks Erwin Hopefully you will now understand and please don't take it personally..
We found this beautiful church in the heart of Georgetown and fell in love with it. The church is medium sized and seats about 300 people and has these beautiful stained glasses that makes it a beautiful place to get married in. Neither myself or my husband is episcoplian so the church is flexible about that as long as one of the couple has been baptized. We had several meetings with the priest to get to know him and he was very accomodating about scheduling it and the church was also very flexible about the order of the ceremony and the music.
There is also a school directly across from the church that can be used as a parking lot which made it very convenient for all of our guests.
Galleria at Lafayette Centre Washington, District Of Columbia 20036
This is an atrium in an office building. The site is spacious enough to fit 300-400 people. I didn't have much contact with Donnita until closer to my wedding date which concerned me, but everything went smoothly on the wedding day. The site provides parking beneath the building, but there are 2 entrances which I didn't know at the time so it was a bit confusing so I'd recommend that you check out everything until you're comfortable with where everything is laid out.
The site provides a security guard so all you need to do is get the wedding insurance and pay for the fee. Since the ceiling is very high, it's not easy to hear everything from the opposite end of the floor so it's something to be aware of as far as seatings are concerned. Overall, it's a spectacular spot with an openness that you won't find at a typical hotel ballroom.
We booked Matt late, but he was still available so we definitely lucked out. He was really great to work with and he was able to work with our schedule to do some last minute stuff for us like take our engagement photos & get the matting for our signature photo among other things. I would recommend that you get in touch with him ASAP if you want him as your photographer!
In retrospect, I wish we had taken various other photos that includes our family and friends, so let him know what you're looking for (although don't give him the list of different poses you're looking for), he's very easy going and is willing to work with you.

Sarah was by far my best vendor. She was great to work with, flexible and very creative. She's extremely knowledgeable and works with very high quality flowers. The planning process was extremely simple with her. After our initial meeting where she showed us her portfolio, we communicated via email and met once before the big day. I was living in Boston at the time so she did a sample center piece and sent me a pictures of it and we worked from there. As for her price, initially I thought her prices were high, but after talking with other brides as well as seeing the work that she did and how gorgeous the flowers were, it was a bargain! I would highly, highly recommend her.
It was a pleasure working with Rocio. She was very prompt in answering all my questions and very flexible in accepting all of the design changes I requested throughout my wedding planning and was on time with delivery of the cake and it was delicious.

I worked with Taylor and she was wonderful to work with. I know there have been a lot of bad reviews of some of the other people that work here, but she was very nice to work with.
My mom actually did the alterations on my dress, but she got some pointers from Hannelore, the owner, herself and she was a sweet lady and very helpful as well.
Alex was great to work with! We love reliving our wedding day by watch our wedding video. He captured a lot of great moments without being obtrusive. He also did our photo montage as well which turned out beatutifully. The only change I would want is to include more photos, but that can be done in your contract negotiation, but what did I know at the beginning of the wedding planning compared to at the end of the planning when I went through the photo selection process.
Alex also has equipment for setting up and showing the photo montage during your rehearsal dinner if you're interested in doing that although I didn't take advantage of it.
We loved RMA. We booked them after cancelling with another company upon finding out that RMA offers better rates and does not require a 10 day notification before cancellation. I wish I remembered our driver because she was fantastic. We rented a bus during our photo session before the ceremony and 2 additional buses to transport our guests from the ceremony site to the reception site. They were on-time, friendly and great to work with. What more could you ask for! I would highly, highly recommend.
