La Venta is the most beautiful venue. As soon as we drove up the winding roads to the location, and saw the views overlooking the South Bay, we were sold. The old Spanish architecture, the beautiful grounds with flowers everywhere, the lovely Bride's Cottage, were all exactly what we were looking for. It was the perfect location for us. We had both the ceremony and reception there. The size was perfect for us, or for anyone with guests of 100 or less. We were treated with profesionalism and experience from beginning to end. Tim Kennedy was there for us every step of the way, including always being nearby on the day. They handled our many details just the way we wanted. We had heard the food was excellent and were not disappointed there either. The only downside was that you cannot personally meet with their "reclusive" baker and that would have been helpful in avoiding snags, and designing the cake. But it was delicious. The best place to get married in this area. Hands down.
Steve and Trina couldn't have been better photographers. From a test run photo shoot to the quality in terms of price, and their great attitudes and preparedness. They were reliable, on time, and best of all, the photos were exceptional. They worked well with the guests and took exactly the types of pictures we were looking for. I highly recommend them for anyone who wants to be rest assured that their pictures and photo album of their special day will be taken care of and done well. They relieved any stress in that department and knew exactly what to do every step of the way.
They worked with me. I told them my ideas, showed them sample pictures and they in turn had a great database of pictures from previous weddings to which I could say, "yes, exactly like that!" Working together, we found exactly the flowers and types of bouquets, arrangements and gazebo designs I was looking for. They worked with my odd requests, like putting the table bouquets in mason jars I provided, incorporating sea glass in the flowers and cutting up a capiz shell curtain to hang from the gazebo. On the day, everything was done exactly right and they were there on time and made sure I was happy before they left. Their price was in the middle of three I met with. Flowers are never cheap, but I highly recommend them.
Alfred Angelo- Los Angeles LA/ Beverly Hills, California 90211
I had gone to a couple of other places before Alfred Angelo. They had the styles I was looking for (nothing too princess or ball gowny for me). I was not going to spend a fortune on a dress, and they had good prices for the style I wanted. Their service in selecting the gown was good. They took the time for me to pick dresses, try them on (sometimes twice) and figure it out. I was not rushed. I found one I loved and it was delivered very quickly. The dress fit wonderfully, so there were not many alterations, but what there was was done well, and quickly. I had my finished dress way before I thought I would. They also have many good sales throughout the year.
We did not want an elaborate wedding video. No schmalz for us. We wanted them to be a "fly on the wall" and simply document the events of the day. No guest interviews, no tacky set-ups, simply get our day on video. Be transparent and invisible during the process. They did everything we asked. The resulting video was nice. We did not want to spend a huge amount on this, and they had pretty good prices, if you go with the base package, like we did.
