Education
I'm currently attending college for my bachelor's degree in Accounting. I'm still up in arms if I'll attend graduate school for accounting directly after or not.
Hobbies
I love love love planning weddings. If I could make a living in my area planning weddings, it would be my dream job. However, I live in a small town where there isn't really a demand for planners. I might try it as a side business once I'm an accountant. I also love reading and watching movies.
About Me
I just started selling Avon. My website is www.youravon.com/lacyjones if you are interested in Avon. You pay Avon directly this way and the order is shipped right to you, so you wouldn't have to worry about giving your information out to a stranger.
Rants
People looking at me weird for my choices for my wedding. My best friend's father makes cakes and if I wanted a regular wedding cake, he would make it for me for free. However, I want cheesecake. My friend just shakes her head whenever I don't budge on wanting cheesecake. I also refuse to have metal folding chairs. You can have the most gorgeous reception tables, but as soon as you bring in metal folding chairs, the look is ruined in my opinion. My mom just shakes her head whenever I say that. Needless to say, there will be no metal folding chairs at my wedding.
Raves
I love finding deals. My budget is between $3100 and $3300 and, so far, I am getting exactly what I want. Granted, I'm not an expensive kind of girl, but knowing that all my research is paying off and that I'll have the wedding of my dreams makes me happy. My FH, bless him, has pretty much stayed out of the details. He is a computer nerd and does not really care about details. He worries sometimes that I might go overboard but he has been really supportive of my many many ideas.

Our Story

I met my fiance in March 2008. My best friend is dating his best friend and they set us up together. At the time I was living 5 hours away going to college in another state, so we first talked online. We talked for two weeks until we met in person for the first time. I had to come home for my uncle's funeral and we decided to do a double date the next day with our two friends that set us up because we both knew we would be very nervous. I know some might find it weird, but we went to the local flea market for our first date. It was great! I still remember when he first held my hand that day. I had to go away again after our first date so it was another two weeks until I had a break for summer before we could see each other again. Over the summer we just clicked. To this day, it is crazy how well me fit together. In October 2008, I decided to leave the university that was 5 hours away and transfer to a local university. My family suspected it was to be closer to him but after realizing how much happier I was to be home, they were happy too. I moved in with my FH that same month, instead of moving in with my parents (I'm a full-time college student.). We had only been together for 6 months but I still don't regret my decision to move in with him.

The Ring

My FH has not gotten my ring yet, but I have it picked out. He is in graduate school for Sociology and I'm in undergraduate school, so money is tight for both of us. I kept this in mind when shopping for my ring. I was beginning to get discouraged because every ring that I found that I liked (3-stone) was really expensive and did not come with a matching wedding band.

Well I started thinking about sterling silver rings. I have a friend who has a gorgeous sterling silver wedding set and you can't tell the difference! She made sure it has a certain polish added to it to keep from staining and discoloring.

Well I found a 3-stone, sterling silver wedding set for a fraction of the cost of the original rings I was looking at! I was so happy! I'm not the type of girl that has to have white gold or anything that needs to be analyzed under a microscope.

So some might not call it a "real" ring, but I can't wait until my FH orders it and I have it on my hand!

Our Wedding Plans

I've flip flopped several times on the wedding. At first we were going to do a small guest list (only 60 guests, when I have a huge family) for the ceremony and reception. Since we want a large reception, we changed it to a private ceremony with only our immediate family and wedding party as witnesses at the JP followed by a huge reception.

We are having a private ceremony and reception for 135 guests (invitations haven't been sent out yet, obviously). I'm not sure where we will be having them at yet.

My "wedding party" will be wearing black skirts and purple tops (of their choosing). I'll be wearing a short white dress with a purple tulip bouquet and purple heels. My FH will be wearing black pants and white shirt (He isn't a tux kind of guy, and I'm not a wedding dress type of girl.) The "groomsmen" will be similarly dressed.

I wasn't going to have a head table for us, our parents, our grandmothers (we each only have a grandmother still living), and our wedding party. But I since my part of the guest list is so much larger than his part, I think we are going to do one.

The tables will be decorated with black vases filled with white tulips, mirrors underneath the vases, flower petals scattered, and formal place settings.
