Two Be Wed
This was not our first choice venue. Our original venue was booked over a year before our wedding but it was a new construction. We were told 6 weeks before the wedding that the venue would not be done in time so we were forced to look for another venue. We called every venue we could find who could hold our 500 guest wedding and this was the only venue available with our wedding date open. The venue is gorgeous so we thought we hit a home run for finding them. And they assured us that our wedding would turn out just the way we wanted.
Now where to start with the issues....
We were told the dancefloor would be big enough for our party. We stressed to them several times how important a big dancefloor is to a Hispanic wedding. Well turns out their dancefloor is tiny. And they supposedly didn't have any extra flooring to make it any bigger. They claimed to have just gotten a new dancefloor and sold the old one. So we were forced to order another dancefloor from an outside company just 4 days before our wedding.
The Monday before our wedding, my complimentary wedding coordinator from the venue emailed me to ask if I needed a cake table, sign in table, gift table, head table, etc. Because apparently those were not part of the standard room set up and I would have to pay for each of those. That's the most ridiculous thing I'd ever heard!!
Not only that, but they did not set up the venue with the 50 tables we were promised in our contract. Instead they claimed they could only fit about 43 which left some guests with no seats.
We also got ripped off on drinks. Our caterer supplied canned coked which HEP Signature Manor agreed to sell for $.50 (to cover the cost of ice) until they ran out. Instead of selling each can for $.50, they filled a tiny cup with ice and poured from the can to the cup. And their bar did not accept cash. All guests had to buy tickets and trade those in at the bar. The majority of our guests complained about getting ripped off with the whole ticket process.
All in all, I'd say HEP Signature Manor is all about the money. They want your money and don't care much about making your dream day come true. They knew we were already in a bind with having to come out of pocket with paying for a change of venue just weeks before our wedding. They convinced us they'd take care of us but once we signed that contract, everything changed. Signature Manor responded with the the following comments: We appreciate your response to your experience with Signature Manor.
1) Dance Floor was 24 by 24 and during the planning meeting the venue planner did vertify and show the size of the dance floor. The room fits over 500 ppl but if you add more dance floor pieces or buffet tables it takes up the square footage of the ballroom. So prior to the day of the event. We gave the client a floor plan to approve.
2) We charge for linens for the extra tables requested that are beyond the scope or contract.
3) We do not allow outside Beverages to our location. Our boss made a special exception due to the situation that your old venue was not finished and did not want to stress the couple. So we only charged 50 cents for ice, real glasses, and the labor to run the glasses back and forth. Since we let you provide your outside catering we do not make money off your food or even your sodas.
4) Cash Bar & Tickets: Most venues & Hotels use the ticket system to purchase cocktails from the bar. The price that we offered was really reasonable. The beer was only $3.00 and top shelf Cocktails were $6.00 a glass. Most places are 15% to 20% higher than our pricing. Not only that we offered 20 tickets to the family as a gift.. So I am not sure why the client felt ripped off by the ticket process.
We want to make the clients day perfect as possible, This is why we spend so much time speaking with our client and confirming all the details. Since it was a venue change at 6 weeks prior to the wedding our staff worked overtime, worked weekend to meet up with the client, constant communication, and even had extra staff to help at no additional charge.
We love our clients and are here to take care of them.
Up until our wedding day, we thought Roslyn was awesome. Our cake was supposed to arrive between 10 and 1, but didn't end up arriving to our banquet hall until after 6. The reception had already began and we were quite embarassed. We ordered a 6 tier cake and apparently it had to be brought in pieces and put together outside the reception hall. My bridal cake did not look like the picture we gave Roslyn and she admitted to us after the wedding that she had not completed decorating the cake before leaving our reception. It tasted great! And it didn't look bad, I just knew that it wasn't the cake of my dreams. Definitely not what I expected it to look like. Definitely not what I paid for.
But the groom's cake came out great! And Roslyn did throw in free fondant for us. I just wish I could say that the bridal cake was a dream come true but it definitely was not.
Almost every appointment was rescheduled at least once by Roslyn. It was always a different excuse. She also had to reschedule every appointment for one of my close friends who luckily did not book with Sweet Delights.
For the price.... I'd say check out Who Made The Cake. My cousin used her for her wedding the weekend after ours and both the bridal and grooms cake looked absolutely gorgeous. And they arrived well ahead of time.
Huge variety of dresses for all budgets! My dress was a gorgeous Audrey Hart that can only be found at Weddings by Debbie. The alternations department has the sweetest lady.
I highly recommend LG Entertainment for DJ and Lighting! We booked them last minute due to some last minute complications with other vendors and I am so glad we did. Our DJ (Jason Garcia) was awesome! He played all the right music to keep the dance floor packed. And the lighting was absolutely beautiful! Lighting makes such a huge difference to a room. We still get compliments on both DJ and Lighting from our guests.
Definitely one of my top vendors! I dont have a single complaint. LG Entertainment responded with the the following comments: Laura & Mario, I know that everything was last minute but hey... we did it and it sounds like everyone had a blast! I never heard of a wedding that had two bands and a dj.. THATS A PARTY! Just when you think it was over... I couldn't believe menudo was served at 2am!!! :)

A little difficult to get in contact with. We weren't sure if they were going to remember our wedding but they showed up and they did awesome. The music was aboslutely beautiful. Very easy to work with. And their prices are really good.
We wanted a Rolls Royce to take us from the Church to the Reception. We had to pay for 2 hours but we only ended up using 1 hour. It's something different, which is definitely what we wanted. Their cars are beautiful and in great shape. Even if we did only use 1 hour, I'm still very satisfied. Our guests thought it was an awesome car. And I love that they put your last name on the license plate and you get to keep it!

I did my trial with Adrienne and was unsure about my hairstyle. She was very easy to work with but I didn't feel like we nailed the style I wanted with my tiara. Adrienne assured me that we would get it right for the wedding day so I was confident with hiring her.
My mom on the other hand... she decided that she wanted someone else to do my hair for the wedding and I felt bad telling her no. I still kept Adrienne booked to do my bridesmaids hair but I gave in to having someone else do my hair.
Well on the wedding day the hairstylist my mom booked showed up late and did a horrible job on my hair. The trial I had with him looked soooo much better. Once he left, I asked Adrienne if she could fix my hair which of course she did without any hesitation. If it werent for Adrienne, I would have probably cried before walking down the aisle. She saved my hair! It turned out beautiful after it got a touch of Adrienne. And all my bridesmaids looked stunning! She even gave me a goodie bag with hair stuff.
Wedding coordinators are a must! We hired Nataly for the day of and it was definitely one of the best choices we ever made. My mom thought I was nuts for hiring a wedding coordinator, but she sure was thankful when the day came. We didn't have to worry about a single thing. Nataly took care of all the issues that arose. And she's such a sweetheart!
Lasting Images was one of my top vendors for my wedding. They were super easy to work with and all my guests really enjoyed using the photo booth. The line never ended; it was such a hit! We got so many great pictures of our guests that are priceless. Our scrapbook looks amazing as well. I can't believe how cute it is. I just want to show it to everyone!
Will and his wife are such nice people. They're not just about the money like some vendors. They were truly there to make my day special for me. Will came out of his way to meet me at work to give me another copy of the pictures from the photo booth when the first copy wouldn't work in my home computer.
I defintely recommend Lasting Images to everyone who wants something unique at their event!
