Sky Meadow was absolutely wonderful for our reception! The food was amazing, and Lynn and Sue were phenomenal. The grounds are gorgeous, and there's a lot of flexibility with floor plan and menu-- we had a fair number of last minute cancellations that left us with too many tables and too much open area, and Lynn and Sue brought in other chairs and tables to set up small intimate seating areas on the edges of the ballroom-- it was lovely! A lot of the locals who came to wedding were surprised because they didn't know about Sky Meadow-- its a great find!
Patisserie Bleu came to my rescue about two weeks before my wedding-- I was diagnosed with food allergies, and the bakery I had already booked couldn't make any accommodations for me. Patisserie Bleu specializes in cakes for people with allergies-- dairy and gluten being the two most common (I have the gluten allergy). Needless to say, I was thrilled to find this little bakery! The staff was incredibly helpful with helping me put together a small cake quickly, so I could have cake too!
Jacques is famous for a reason! Our cake was included in our reception package, so cost was not an issue for us. The tasting was fun and they walked us through every detail. Unfortunately, I can't say how the cake tasted-- I was diagnosed with a gluten intolerance and Jacques cannot make accommodations for allergies. Obviously that was the only thing keeping it back from a perfect score-- a bride with no wedding cake! If allergies aren't an issue, though, Jacques definitely delivers a beautiful cake and they're a pleasure to work with.
I had a wonderful experience with Alfred Angelo picking out my wedding dress-- the staff was helpful and the delivery time was amazingly fast. I chose the bridesmaids dresses through the store partially because I could get my bridesmaids a discount (and those are always good!) Unfortunately, this store does not handle out of state orders well. Most of my girls got their dresses within weeks of the wedding (having ordered five months in advance), and so they had to find rush alterations-- at least two of the girls were ordered the wrong size! The dresses themselves were beautiful, and were easily altered, which was helpful with the time crunch. Still, I would not go back to this particular Alfred Angelo salon-- they're a newer store, and hopefully will be able to work the bugs out of the system, but it likely won't be soon.
Invitations were very important to me because they're the first thing guests sees as far as what the wedding is going to be like. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find the right invites, but the ones I found at Invitation Consultants were perfect! Even better, you can order an online proof so that if there are any changes the proofreaders have made you can see them and sign off on them-- we did, and the proofreaders caught a few mistakes on the response cards. The prices are excellent, and delivery is fast! I was put off by the whole "online printing" thing, but it turned out perfect.

We had two different experiences with Jared's-- first, when we went shopping for the wedding rings, and then when we attempted to resize my engagement ring. We chose Jared's because my engagement ring was purchased there, and shopping for the wedding rings was a treat. The staff was very kind and helped us select rings that worked for us without pushing pricier rings. If that had been our only experience, the store would have received 5 out of 5. However, we had difficulty with the resizing. The woman who did the sizing for me debated the size with me, then apparently wrote down the smaller of the two sizes rather than the slightly larger one I chose. When we got the ring back, it was even smaller! It was a bit of a battle to get it back to the correct size, so just be aware that not all staff members at the store offer the same high quality service.
