This might sound strange but we met in ocean city MD. My ex boyfriend who I was still close to called me while I was driving out there with my sister and a few friends. He said he was doing just the same and asked if I wanted to meet up. I said sure and later the next day we picked a spot on the beach. He had come with a friend who was parking the car and we started chatting while we waited. He seemed to talk his friend up a lot and I didnt know why untill his friend showed up. Mike sat down, complained about the parking and next think we know we had been talking for a few hours and ended up with sunburn because we both forgot to flip. my ex thought we both would hit it off and have some fun but never thought we would be getting married 5 years later. lol. Sometimes I guess someone can know you better then you realize and make some pretty good judgement calls.
The Ring
Well, the ring had been a topic of conversation for a while, and one day Mike asked me If I wanted to do something fun. Next thing I know we are at a local store looking at rings. He had been looking at one for a while but wasnt sure if I would like it. Well, I loved it. It had a round 3/4 c stone in the center, with 4 small, glitter adding stones on either side. But the ring itself has this carving along the side that I just fell in love with. It also came with a matching wedding band. 2 weeks later when I got the ring, he had replaced the center diamond with my favorite stone, an amethyst. I love purple and he knew amethyst was my fav and it makes the ring look antique. A lot of people think its a family ring because of that. This makes it a little more special because is mother sold the family ring after she split from his dad. Mike was upset he couldnt pass it on. Now we have a new one and I plan to use it as such.

Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum St. Leonard , Maryland
I love this site and all the rich history it provides and had a wonderful wedding. I was very happy with the staff and how they were willing to work with me to help my guests have a great time and received many positive compliments on the venue, ease of parking and the signs available along the way to help them find the location. All in all I feel everything went very well. I would like to advise brides to be aware that this is not like a typical venue that has an event coordinator. The renter is pretty much in charge of it all and its up to you to make sure you have someone to cover everything that might go on, including set up, clean up, trouble shooting, ect?. There were only a few things that happened that cause this venue to not receive a full 5 stars and I will explain in detail the reason under each star category. Quality of Service/ Responsiveness: Again, this is not your typical venue with a separate event coordinator. Many questions I had were sent and had to be reviewed before I could receive an answer and I even worked with Michelle (one of the park staff who I believe heads the pavilion rentals and schedule) to make sure unique situations to my wedding would be handled smoothly (parking, cold weather..) Because she does not have ?final say? there were sometimes forgotten questions that had to be readdressed at a later time and occasional slow response times (but everything was eventually addressed) Professionalism: I have no complaints regarding communications but rather a suggestion that might help further pavilion rentals run smoother. When we first rented the pavilion 9 months prior to the event, a packet was sent out addressing all the rules and regulations of the rental including set up restrictions and cleaned up requirements. All paperwork was fully reviewed and signed by my parents and me so that all parties involved were aware of everything and then set aside to keep it safe. During the hustle and bustle preparing for the ?Big Day? the paperwork was completely forgotten and not brought with us to use as a reference for clean up (so surprise there). The following could all be attributed to the park having their own event they were attending to at the same time, but we feel that there were things the park should have had available as a precaution to prevent confusion. First a staff member came down to check on the event to see when clean up would start so they could be there to supervise but spoke with a guest, not someone listed on the contract. Had my father, mother or I been contacted via a DJ announcement we would have been able to tell them when clean up was scheduled to start. We had rented the barn until 10 but because of the cold a lot of the guests left and we got started on clean up early and when everything was done by 9 no one was there to do a final walk through. We as bride and groom, had not been allowed to stay so we were not able to remind my parents that the walk through was needed before they could leave, and they left. We got a call the next morning informing us that several tables and items had not been put away properly, and my father and new husband had to go back and fix the error. I feel ALL of this could have been prevented had a copy of the requirements been left in the kitchen along with a clean up check sheet and pin up of the lay out, much like what is left at a time share for the owner to go over before leaving. Many people must forget to bring copies of the paperwork, especially when it?s been several months, when you?re tired and feeling like you are going 10 ways at once. Flexibility: This park has its own events and is not open year round so spaces fill up quickly. Plan ahead if you have your heart set on this site.
All in all I feel everything went well and would recommend the site to anyone, but make sure you cover all your bases and bring your paperwork with you.
Tommy was wonderful to work with. He was always on time if not early and came with his assistant anytime he was requested. I had many guest also comment on how well he blended in with everyone and how he didnt get in anyone's way during the night like some photographers they have seen. I plan on using Tommy later for TTD photos and will update this review if needed at that time.
I LOVED working with Laura. I felt comfortable the entire time we were doing the photo shoot and had a lot of fun. I would recommend Laura to anyone interested in doing something special for their future husband.
With the budget I was working with I never thought I would be able to buy a traditional wedding cake but decided to give Jeneva a try. We had our appointment with Jeneva herself and were able to talk with her about every detail of what we were looking for as well as price. We ended up deciding on floating stands and a very simple cake design that left us well under the price I would have paid any place else. The cake looked and tasted wonderful and everyone of my guests commented on how good it was. I would not hesitate to use Jeneva again for any of my special cake needs.
We used Davids for our bridesmaids dresses. We were able to find and appointment quickly but some communication errors preceded when it was time to pick up the dresses. (incorrect store hours given over the phone, not told a copy of the receipt was needed to pick up the dress...) and the sizes came in a bit small and needed more adjustments then we had planned. All in All for a chain store everything went well. I would just recommend buying your dress a size larger then tried on in the store because its easier to take in then let out these dresses. There isnt a lot of extra fabric to play with.

I LOVE Scalped. They listen to what you are looking for and also how you live your day to day life to better get a feel how much you like to work with your hair. I saw Kathleen for my wedding and she was like a artist perfecting her sculpture. She made sure every hair was where it should be and that everything looked just right. My hair lasted all day even with the rainy weather and the hundreds of hugs.
The only reason Top hat did not get a full 5 stars was because of a few issues we had during the day of the wedding. We were suppose to pick up our items the morning of the wedding but due to the weather and other events the rented items had not been loaded onto the u-haul we purchased and the loaders were not going to be able to have it done until after 2 or so, Our wedding started at 2. Because of the weather we didnt need the chairs which cut down on the time needed to load everything and in their rush to work with us they forgot to load the coffee maker we had rented, so he had a lot of coffee, holders to keep it warm, but no way to make it. I do not feel that this is an everyday event but with all the changes in other events and their eagerness to work with us, things were overlooked. Everything else was beautiful and went up and came down easily and would recommend them to anyone with the advise to double check the list before leaving.
