Congratulations to you both! I'm hopeful that I can make it back to Texas for the wedding. Brian was my closest friend in high school and I'm very happy that he has found someone to share his life with. It's been way too long since we've seen each other and it would be great to reconnect. The Hotel Derek is a beautiful hotel. I feel in love with it the moment I saw it. The staff was great to work with. My only really big complaint is the fact that I had three different wedding coordinators. Every time I called to talk to one, they would inform me that she didn't work there any more. I never received a call or email letting me know of the change in personnel. The only reason I knew something had changed is that when I would email the coordinator, I wouldn't get any response. Once I made contact with the new coordinators, the communication was good. Stacy is the current coordinator and she did a great job in the short time she knew about our reception. The day of the reception, everything went very well with some minor issues due to the flower provider (not associated with the hotel). My husband and I were very happy with the results. The ballroom looked beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious. We were well taken care of that night!
Cake Affairs did a wonderful job with our wedding and groom's cakes. Even though they were included our wedding package at the Hotel Derek, I would have used them regardless. The cakes were delicious and beautiful. They did EXACTLY what we had all agreed on and the result was magnificent! I am very pleased with them and will use them again for any other special occasion.
A & A Video did a great job with our video planning. We have not yet received our DVD since the wedding was just a couple of weeks ago. The final product takes about 8 weeks to arrive so once we get that, I will be updating this review (if needed). Irfan, the videographer and his assistant, Sean, were great. Irfan was very professional and courteous. He got the shots that he needed prior to the reception without fussing too much. We can't wait to see the final product.

Aisha's did a good job on my hair and makeup. Aisha herself did my makeup (although I had not requested her). She did a wonderful job. Zeba did my hair and it turned out beautiful. I have short hair and she managed a really pretty "up-do". I did not need extensions like I thought I would. Everyone LOVED my hair and make-up. I can't wait to see the pictures and video.
My mom booked this dance company and we are so happy that she did. They specialize in Bollywood-style dancing. My mom chose 4 dances and the girls did a terrific job. All of our guests we so impressed and enjoyed it so much that they are still talking about it. It was great entertainment and I am sure we will use them again for any other special occasion that may arise.
