Hey Everyone! Needless to say how excited both, Joshua and I are about this wonderful point in our lives right now and the very near future to come. (May 21, 2011) Whether its marriage, love or dating, everyone has "a story". And as each story goes to tell, there are always 2 sides.. So we each have decided to share our side to the magical moment which brought us to today...
Her Side....
Once Upon A Time... haha I'm kidding! LOL
When I woke up on the morning of Thursday, May 21, 2009, I had no idea whatsoever that later on that evening, I would meet the love of my life and would want to spend the rest of my life with him.
It all started with a website called Craigslist, lol yes I said it Craigslist! Who would have thought a shopping site would lead to true love... After several emails back and forth, Joshua and I decided to meet in the parking lot of Mathews Bar in Spokane, WA. Driving the 30 min drive from my house to Spokane, many thoughts ran through my mind, as I'm sure his as well. As I past each exit, I debated on whether or not to turn off and go back home. The closer I got to my destination, the more my stomach filled itself with each tiny butterfly; by the time I got there and parked I was a nervous wreck lol.
Joshua was inside the bar and trough text messages he tried to convince me to come in to meet him. Being the shy person I am, I refused and instead he came out to meet me by my car. (It was a perfect quick getaway) I can remember the exact moment I laid eyes on him, like it was just yesterday. He was so handsome and amazingly genuine. I was shocked that such a man could be found online. After about an hour or so of talking (which seemed to be the most awkward hour of my life lol) Josh asked me to join him to a Birthday house party one of his friends was having for him that weekend. As much as I wanted to say YES! YES! YES! lol I declined and decided not to go with a complete stranger for obvious reasons. I could have stayed talking to him all night but instead we ended our first encounter with a hug and I quickly got into my car and drove off.
As I made my way back home, I thought to myself "I have to have him" and just like every other goal I have set and reached, whether he knew it or not, Joshua was my next, and I had all intentions on making him a part of my life forever!
7 Months later, on Christmas Eve, Joshua proposed to me. He gave me a small white jewelry box and told me to open it. When I saw the ring, I looked at him and all I could say is "what is this" lol His exact words were "You should take it out, it would look better on you than in the box" I don't think he ever asked the traditional "will you marry me" nor did I reply with a direct "yes" but here we are planning our wedding, so whatever way we may have said it. We knew what it meant!
The End!
His Side...
It was the Thursday before my 27th Birthday, and I was taking advantage of my 3 day B-Day weekend when this girl I met on Craigslist said she wanted to meet me. I said "That's Cool, we can meet" Even though I doubted having any luck with the Internet dating scene!
That evening she came and met me at old Mathew's. It was the bar around the corner from my Apt at the time. My Friend Cory was with me starting my B-Day weekend off with a few beers. When she arrived she called me and said she was outside. So I went outside with my Friend and there she was waiting in the parking lot lol. (She looked liked a scared kitty)
I said "Hello" Heather said "Hello" lol we stood there and chopped it up, watching Cory as our cheap entertainment, LOL! (He decided to relieve himself on the wall, and the cops drove by, then he proceeded to talk to them, insisting he knew them from school) LOL yes it was quit embarrassing! (Thanks Cory for being the ice breaker!)
Shortly after that, Heather said she had to leave cause she had to work in the morning, (I still think it was an excuse) as I attempted to get her to join us for the night or even to have a drink or two. As we drove off I was about to thank Cory for wrecking my chances with this girl, when I got a text from Heather saying Thank you, hope to see you again.
For weeks after we talked and talked and texted and texted, and before I knew it, her things slowly started showing up at my house and "forgetfully" being left behind, until eventually it was her, her dogs, and a cat taking over my entire space and winning my heart forever lol
The End!
