We meet thru work. We both had to take a class, and I found out he worked in the very house I wanted to. For anyone that knows me, they would not forget to mention how loud and spunky I am. And if you knew George, You would wonder how such a quite and self perserved person could be with me. Well, that day in class someone told him I was already taken, the next day in class he sat at a different table. I thought that was the last day I would ever talk to him again.
That next weekend after the class was over I got transfered... TO THAT HOUSE, yet still I never really seen him much... and then...
The weekend after new years day, The other employees were all going out to a club, I didn't know any of them really, had only been at that house for 2 weeks. And I went ahead and worked the over night so they all could go out. I was pretty wired from the coffee and caffine I had been drinking, and when they all showed up to come claim their cars, George just smiled and couldn't help but laugh at how jittered I was. He had talked to me a few times prior, but not like he did that next morning.
8am came and I knew how little sleep he had got, so I txted him and asked him if he would like to get some sleep and just come in at noon. He texted back "thanks" and when I thought that was the end of the converstaion it went on and on till noon as he was walking in, and went on as I was falling asleep, and went on even longer as he was getting off work. But that night we had plans on going out to dinner that friday... I couldnt wait...
And I didn't the day before we were suppose to go out I had texted him, to just see what he was up to. I was bored. Him and his guy friends were all going to go out and have some fun, but in that very text message he told me not to move and he was going to be right there. I was at the park swinging... when he pulled up. We talked for hours and hours. Days had already passed and it was like we knew each other. I had only been here in the state for a couple of months now, so he took me to different parks, and places just to see them and to drive around. We was at Brushy Lake, moon was high in the sky, and me straight from California I didnt think it could get that cold here in Oklahoma.
Freezing now, he was just a few feet away when he walked up and wrapped him and his coat around me... leand down to me and kissed me....
And just like that he was mine... I was his...
We was out that night with a group of our friends. And he has joked about it before. See George was known for being that one that would never get married. But from time to time he would ask if or when we were going to get married. I thought it was more cause I said I would never get married again... Yep this is not my first time around, but it is the first time that I get to send out invites and have a dress and friends and family around. But anyways on this night he sends me a text... YES back to the great old text messages... "So when we going to get married" joking I replied "tomorrow" his look he had, I then relized he was no longer JOKING... NO RING, NO GETTING DOWN ON ONE KNEE... THIS was US! our weird perswonal way of us... and that how we became engaged, besides a game of pool to see who was really going to pop the question... (and I Lost, so I had to ask) but I asked in a text message too...
Yesterday, while doing something have no idea, but I remember it was a bit cold. He didnt have his coat on, but he did wrap me in his arms, he didn't kiss me the same way.... but the kiss still has that same kick to it!
To the rest of our friends, they see us and at first laughed, now they just see George & Carolyn, and are excited for us, and in no time we will be husband and wife... and to make it more of a thing for us, its on New Year's Eve when we say "I do", that way the first of the year we can start off right!
