We booked a year and a half in advance for the perfect July wedding date. We wanted a romantic place with great scenery for pictures and a place where a horse could take me, as a bride, down the isle to my new husband. This was the place. There was a pasture for my horse to graze after the ceremony. The food was great, the entertainment was great, and the setup was great. The only downsides were that there was little shade in the ceremony area and it was 95 degrees out, so almost everyone sat on the groom's side, even my family and friends, and there were no real toilets, only portapotties, which are worthless for a wedding dress. We went in the off season, which meant that we didn't have to deal with the bad smell the castle gets during the feast of fantasy, due to the lack of air conditioning. But the site was great, the grounds were perfect, everything was lovely, and they let me have my horse there. It was a perfect place for a beautiful wedding. And it was also very affordable, and they came up with vegan and vegan-gluten-free meals for all my guests! Everyone loved the food.

Shelley gave me the most beautiful wedding pictures that I could ask for. She took all my ideas and combined them with her brilliant creativity to create the most picture-perfect wedding day (although the real day was a heap of stress!). Each photo makes every moment look magical. Her prices are competitive for the quality and fairy-tale style of photography that she does. Every picture is perfect...none of anyone with eyes half closed, none of that photojournalism, "I can take pictures as well as uncle Bob" stuff. She edits her pictures and presented us with a beautiful, keepsake momento of our wedding.

I booked more than a year in advance, as she only did one wedding per month. I believe that now she does even fewer than that.

I lived 850 miles from my wedding location, so when I could only describe the cake I wanted over the phone they made it almost exactly how I wanted it. The only thing they didn't do, which I had asked, was to not decorate the top because I had a cake topper. They did, but it was so lovely anyhow that the cake topper ended up going beside the cake instead. It was set up in a timely fashion and I never even knew they were there. We had fondant frosting and filling, which was delicious. The quality was as good or better than the fancy cake decorators, and our two-tier cake plus a matching sheet cake for the kids only cost about $250 total. Best of all, if you live nearby they give you a free cake on your one-year anniversary so you don't need to eat old cake. We couldn't do this because we live too far away, but it's a great idea.

Chris and his team worked diligently on my wedding day, despite the heat with an outdoor ceremony and reception. When all was said and done, we had an excellent quality video that was fun to watch and everyone enjoyed. The best part of all was that we won the silent auction for the Love is the Cure breast cancer benefit auction for his services. He had donated his and his team's time and resources to give us a super memorable video, and in doing so also donated the money that we bid for the services to breast cancer survivors. That said so much to me about his personality-the fact that he and his team worked just as hard for something they did for no pay as something they did for pay, and that they donated that money instead to breast cancer survivors. Our photographer, who had expressed concerns about having a videographer, hardly knew he and his team was there. With three people, though caught everything. I couldn't have been happier.

We hired Marchelle to be our wedding officiant for our July wedding. We put down our payment and had a signed contract. She was supposed to help us at the rehearsal, as well.

Well, she didn't show up to the rehearsal. We panicked, because we had no one to do anything, and with the help of friends we got through the rehearsal. She never bothered to call to say she wouldn't be there. She HAD said that she would be there. WE had to give her a call to ask why she wasn't around. She didn't pick up her phone. Finally, at 10 pm we call her and she says that her car broke down, but she'll be around for the wedding. But she doesn't know how to get transportation, yet.

Wedding morning, she is not sure how she is going to get to us. She seems annoyed that we keep calling. Sure, it's annoying, but this is our wedding day, we've spent a lot of money, we live 850 miles away, and don't want to go home not married and have to get married at a courthouse in another state! We begin to arrange for my maid of honor's husband to pick her up. She expresses that she doesn't want to be picked up by a stranger. We think of calling a taxi for her and just biting the bullet for the price (assuming she shows up for the taxi), when our bed and breakfast saves the day, calls a friend of hers who is a judge and a wedding officiant, who calls the bride he's marrying that day and asks if it's okay that he's a bit late for her wedding to get us married, since we have no officiant. She agrees (he wasn't late after all), did an excellent job, and tells us that we aught to take Marchelle to court and he can give us a lawyer. We didn't, because ruining her life when she would only have ruined our day seemed a bit harsh, but we DO NOT recommend talking to her. She won't show up at your wedding!
