They are a husband and wife team - Frank and Sandra....and AMAZING would not begin to describe their food, level of service and professionalism. Sandra is like a wedding planner - she helped me SO MUCH towards the end of my wedding. The staff that works with them...THE BEST! EVERYONE at my wedding knew who Sandra was...she walked around to different people and asked if there was anything they needed - who does that? She had a personal waiter assigned to me and my husband the entire night....again - who does that? The food - EVERYONE was talking about it the next day. Yes they are expensive - but can I tell you how good it feels to hear people talking about your wedding and saying how amazing our caterer was?!?! Frank and Sandra are THE BEST...seriously. When you hire them - people will remember their food and service. Can you put a price tag on peace of mind?? When there are SOOO many details to tend to and worry about....it pays off to not have to worry about your caterers or one less thing. They honestly go over and above...they are an amazing couple! I can't thank them enough :-)
I live in Miami and had my wedding in Key Largo, FL...I had alot of friends criticize me b/c I couldn't find a local photographer...but after everyone saw my wedding pictures, EVERYONE understood and celebrated my wedding pics. I can't tell you how many times I've been told that these are THE BEST wedding pictures anyone has ever seen...seriously. Also, Genya is an absolute GEM! Her personality and level professionalism was amazing! Everyone in my family LOVED her! My pictures were more than I expected...my husband and I are so happy we chose her to do our wedding pictures. Hand on my heart - she is worth EVERY penny! She's THE BEST! Do not take my word for it....just look at her website. What you see is what you get.
Loved my florist!!! They were so easy to work with and I had an abundance of flowers! I had white orchids, orange orchids and orange calla lillies....he did an amazing job! :-)
I used her to make the chocolate seashells on my cake - they were beautiful! She's so sweet and easy to work with. She completely customized the shells to match my colors....other vendors do not do that. And her shells look the most real. I found her in The Knot - Best OF 2007 Issue. She's always featured in it.
Edda's has a Guava Cake with Cream Cheese icing that I fell in love with. That was supposed to be my main wedding cake...then a month before my wedding they tell me that they will not transport my cake to Key Largo for fear that the cake would "melt" because of the cream cheese icing. I didn't know what do b/c I LOVED this cake and had my heart set on this cake. So my wedding planners helped me come up with a great compromise. Previously I had tried cakes from Publix (the grocery store) that was amazing and I really like alot....I was actually going to go with the cake from Publix until I tried the one from Edda's. The one from Publix I liked the most was a white cake with dulce de leched filling and buttercream icing. I ended up doing that as my main 3-tiered cake and then did a sheet cake of the guava cake from Edda's and I ended up saving about $150! :-) So I had both cakes which I thought complimented eachother really well.
I ordered the bridesmaids dresses from here - they had this beautiful orange mango color silk shantung fabric I fell in love with...if ordering 3 or more dresses they will give you a 10% discount. Didn't have any problems with them at all - everything came in perfect and alterations where a breeze. Great company!
Maria Elena and her husband are the sweetest people ever! Their tailor is the sweetest lady as well - they were great to work with! I would recommend this store to anyone! :-)
I should have shopped around but my husband wanted a guayabera from Ramon Puig...so we went to his store. We had a custom-made guayabera made and pants as well....and spent almost $1000. Ridiculous!!! Too much $$$!!!! Now, his shirt is absolutely gorgeous! I can not deny that - and he looked like a million bucks - but they charged us $10 for monogramming his cuffs after we had already spent $1000 - c'mon! That's not nice! We also had all 4 groomsment outfitted here as well - and if you do not speak english - you're going to struggle. So that was very frustrating. I think I could have found better service and spent 1/2 of the amount I spent here.
Ben works with White Light Event Design wedding planners - he has the BEST music I've heard at a wedding. EVERYONE at the wedding was bouncing up and down. He was amazing! I asked him for a CD of the music he played at my wedding and he promised he was going to do it....it's been 6 months and I still do not have it. I'm kinda bummed by that...if you say you're going to do something you should do it. That wouldn't stop me from hiring him again though....i'm serious....the music was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I found my invitations online at www.einvite.com - they carry a line called Checkerboard Invitations - VERY NICE quality!!! And then I was referred to Linda Mann by a family member...she gave me 20% off my order!!! Not to mention - she has this beautiful little office where you can work one-on-one with her and she has GREAT feedback and advice to help you with wording. She's awesome!!! Highly recommend her!
I work with the owner - she's a GEM! Great prices, great service - awesome, awesome, awesome! I bought the seashell glass paper weights....everyone raved about them! She has really different stuff :-)
The wedding planners referred me to Fr. Repp - he's awesome! Great sense of humor and speaks english and spanish, which was important to me b/c I have a lot of family that only speaks spanish. He was great!!! I loved him! :-) I'm so happy he officiated our wedding.
The only glitch in my wedding was at the reception.... 2 things...first, I had tables marked "reserved" and everyone ended up sitting where ever they wanted and did not pay attention to the "reserved" seating signs. I thought that they should have helped with that because 2 of my bridesmaids - which were my cousins - did not have a place to sit! I was upset by that. Second - my band was upset b/c we did not pay them in cash, but the wedding planner had confirmed with me that I could pay them with a check. The band came up to us during our dinner asking us to pay them in cash or that they were leaving. That was obviously VERY uncomfortable...the band members were also upset b/c one of the planners told them to play or leave which is when they then approached me. I think Jennifer Calciano is awesome and really professional....Tamar can be a bit abrupt but that's not necessarily a bad thing b/c I remember when I was interviewing videographers she was a real asset. I really liked them both alot but those 2 incidents really bothered me.
I should also point out a few things which show how my planners went over and above: 1. I called Jennifer the night before the wedding at 9:30pm because I forgot to purchase a cowboy hat (for photography...long story)...and she found one for me :-) 2. Because of their great relationship with Dalsimer (the florist), they were able to have them include chandeliers for our reception gratis. 3. The morning after the wedding, White Light and Jeanetti's (the caterer) went to our wedding location (our best friends house) and cleaned up any left over trash and items and walked through with them afterwards to make sure the property was left to their liking. 4. They included several amber uplights and a water light gratis because they thought it made a beautiful addition to our wedding reception (which it did).
I did not do any shopping around and in retrospect...I should have met 2-3 more planners. I would still recommend them.
