I had a very large wedding. The San Luis was 1 of 3 options in my budget. The Grand Ballroom was gorgeous, and an obvious choice! Since my wedding was so big and in the grand ballroom, I only had to meet a minimum in food and beverage sales, and there was no charge for the room, meaning I didn't have to pay a rental fee for the room, or any of the dinnerware/glassware/napkins, etc. They have thought of every detail. Stacey is amazing, and will help you in every way possible. She even booked the screen through a audio visual company so that we could show a sideshow. I dropped off my own decorations the morning of (favors, seating cards and escort cards, rose petals, coloring books for the kids), and her and her wonderful staff had already put out the decorations exactly as I had asked when I went in to have a sneak peak a few hours later. They provided several things for decorations (tablecloths, picture frame for my bridal portrait, candles, table numbers and stands) which saved me several hundred dollars. They also saved us by providing a brand new bentley to travel in. They picked us up from our church, and then looked like high society in our 'escape'. My husband and I were treated like royalty! We were served first in the buffet. My food was phenomenal. We got the most compliments on the lemon shrimp bow tie pasta. I heard the chicken was dry from a few friends, however I asked for extra sauce, and thought mine was delicious. My plate was overflowing with food. During the menu tasting, it was made very clear that we could choose anything they offered, and they could create any style of dinner service around it. The selection was huge, but I ended up going with one of there menus, with very little changes (regular salad instead of caesar). The San Luis is very flexible with the beverages as well. We weren't sure how much wine our guests would drink since we had 2 kegs. Stacey suggested having a starting max. She came to us when they had 10 bottles left of our max, and asked if we would like any more bottles opened. That was so helpful, because that way we didn't buy to little, and we stopped serving at what we could afford, and at a time (30 minutes after dinner) we were comfortable with. The price seems high when first looking at the San Luis to the modest budget, but it was definitely worth it. And you can customize it to be as expensive or inexpensive as you would like, all while having the expensive look. Lastly, we had a free honeymoon suite. It was decorated with rose petals everywhere! It was sooo beautiful! We also had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room. It was magical!

Unfortunately, I would have to say that I would not recommend, nor use our photographer again. He is impossible to get a hold of. We were impressed with our engagement pictures, however there were only about 10 that were great. My bridal pictures were in weird poses, and not quite the 'vision' that I had asked for. At the wedding, he was late, and the 2nd photographer that he brought was a woman who I personally don't think had ANY experience taking pictures. Both of their pictures were off centered, bad coloring, awful backgrounds, and often blurry. He provided cd's with all images taken, however they are all unedited. We will have to edit each picture ourselves in order to get prints. For the albums, he did have them edited, and they look nice. There are a lot of images we didn't get. He didn't take charge at the wedding, and I feel he missed a lot of shots that we wanted. I had also specifically asked for pictures of each table with all of the people there. I got a picture of each table, however I got a lot of people's backs. Not worth the money at all.

Let me say, coming into the wedding, I had no idea how much flowers cost. I should've done more research and met with more vendors to get comparative bids and ideas. I only met with Sabrina, and she sold me in our first meeting. She was very flexible because I couldn't make up my mind with certain aspects before signing the contract, and changed a few things after. She worked with my budget, and appeared to be very honest with the limitations of my budget. My ceremony florals were beautiful. My bouquet looked amazing, as well as my bridesmaids bouquets, the corsages, and boutinierres. I went very simple in the church with just one large white altar arrangement. We were only at the church for the 20 minute service, so I didn't want to waste my budget there. For my centerpieces, I wanted fall colors. We had originally talked about roses, a few lilies, 2-3 small daisies to add some color (which I made it very clear I didn't like daisies, but understood they were really cheap), and a few larger flowers to take up space. She also suggested the little neon green pom-poms to add some pop. We talked a few times after signing the contract. She double checked on the few things I wasn't sure on (bridesmaids bouquet colors, as well as the corsages and boutinierres, and the number of centerpieces). She never once called about problems with ordering the flowers we had discussed. When I went to the reception hall to pick up the bouquets, I was slightly disappointed with the centerpieces. There was a majority of large daisies, 2-3 roses, several of the green pom-poms, and nothing else. I told her that that was more daisies than we had discussed, and she said the other flowers were to expensive, so she went with the daisies to cut costs. She never called me to okay that, or hinted at that when we talked a few days before. She said everything was fine. But, with all that said, the centerpieces were beautiful. The colors were what I asked for and wanted, and the green pom-poms added a little extra.
If I were to go through the process again, I would've gotten a few more estimates, and talked with other florists about other options for a smaller budget. Although, my budget was 10% of my total budget, which I didn't think was that bad.

Becky is awesome! She had so many cakes, flavors, and icings to offer, and they were all amazing! She put the tasting together in 1 day, and spent a lot of time with me explaining the differences, and offered help when I didn't know what I wanted. She worked with me over the phone, since I live out of state, and I emailed a picture that I designed, and wanted my cake to look like. She got it perfect, and the cake was amazing!!!

These people are awesome! They thought of every detail. The only complaint we had was that instead of asking if we were ready to do the cake cut, or bouquet toss, etc, they would just announce it, no matter what we were doing...however I think they were going by our time line, so I can't really blame them. They let us pick the music we wanted, and were able to pick other music that really fit the mood. We had the best time, and felt like we never left the dance floor. We had our family and friends, young and very old, on the dance floor so incredibly late. We were supposed to end the event at 10, and at 9:45, they said that they could stay another hour since half our guests were still dancing, which is when they had to stop playing b/c of our venue, and we danced until 11. They were so awesome about that! They also got some great pictures of us and sent them to us.

There was a very tight timeline that they were adament that we adhere to. We generally do check with the bride and groom before each activity, but we were adhering to the timeline as she pointed out. :-)
