Demetrios has some beautiful dresses at pretty reasonable prices, and I absolutely love the dress that I bought, but the quality of service is not the best. As I think some other reviewers have noted, they can get very busy and may totally forget about you. In my case, I felt that the consultants there were pretty helpful when I came in to try on and ultimately purchase a dress and veil, but after that point, once the items had been purchased, they weren't as interested in trying to make time to answer questions or help with accessories, etc. When my mother and I went in to pick up the dress, we had a hard time finding someone just to help us get a fitting room. I decided not to use Demetrios for my dress alterations because I felt it might be risky based on some other reviews I had read.

We are so glad that we hired MDM for our entertainment - they were so easy to work with and were instrumental in making our wedding reception a success. Matt Windsor was our DJ (assisted by Emerson) and he did an amazing job moving the evening along, playing music that our guests enjoyed, accommodating song requests and last-minute changes, and keeping the dance floor packed. Of all of our vendors, we had the most anxiety about choosing a DJ because we felt that the entertainment and music could really make or break the evening -- there's nothing worse than having an empty dance floor at your wedding. So we met with several different companies, interviewed them extensively, and had all but decided to go with one of them. But after meeting with Mike Dodson (the owner of MDM and an incredibly friendly, sincere, and easygoing guy) and Matt and asking them a long list of questions, we immediately changed our minds. We felt confident that we had found the right DJ at MDM. We felt that Matt understood exactly what we wanted and that he would also do an excellent job of reading the crowd to figure out what they wanted to hear. And we could tell that he sincerely wanted the night to be a success. As we are an interracial couple, our guests were very diverse - coming from Scandinavia and Asia in addition to the U.S. We had a fair number of older guests as well, and we were very concerned about finding a DJ who could get all of our guests on the dance floor at some point during the night, if not all night long. Matt and Emerson did not disappoint. As soon as our first dances ended, the dance floor was flooded, and the energy lasted throughout the evening. Our DJs did a great job transitioning between songs and playing music from a variety of eras. They played all of our "must play" songs and a majority of our "play if possible" songs and also took requests from our guests. Matt was also a fantastic MC - fluid, clear, professional, friendly, and flexible. We had a last-minute addition to the schedule and he accommodated it with ease. Everyone had a great time, and we couldn't be happier with the service that we received from MDM. We would hire them again in a heartbeat!

We hired a string trio from Symphony Sounds to play at our ceremony. We found them on the Internet and then set up a meeting with Sarah Marsh, the founder. She is very sweet and gave us a very detailed information packet as well as a demo CD. They have a very extensive repertoire but will also play songs that are not in their repertoire -- in our case, we wanted them to play a special hymn and provided them with some sheet music for it. The trio played it beautifully. They were also very prompt and arrived at the chapel very eary to set up, tune, and warm up. Symphony Sounds has several forms that make it very easy to plan your ceremony music. We made our selections and they executed them all very well -- we were very satisfied and would definitely hire them again!

We looked around for a long time to find the perfect wedding invitations, and Stephita totally delivered. We have received so many rave reviews about our invitations -- many of our guests have said that they are too pretty and elegant to discard. Stephita makes their invitations entirely by hand using colorful cardstock, ribbons, and playful layouts. The best part is that although they have a number of templates, the invitations are totally customizable, and we took full advantage of that. We combined elements from different templates, changed colors and fonts, added a map that was custom drawn for us, and kept making little changes until things were exactly the way we wanted. The invitations turned out better than we had expected. You'll be hard pressed to find invitations that rival what Stephita can produce. As other reviewers have said, they cost the same as other mid-priced invitations but they look much more expensive. Our guests definitely thought we spent a ton of money on our invitations, but Stephita's prices are quite reasonable. Even though the company is located in Canada (with some branches on the west coast), they are quite responsive over e-mail. Our entire correspondence was done over e-mail. We just provided detailed instructions on all the different aspects of the invitation and then fine-tuned the proof to our liking. It was a little time-consuming, but definitely well worth it. The customer service is great as well. We had a small glitch in our order -- 18 of invitations arrived only partially completed. We informed Stephita about the problem and they immediately got to work and shipped us out 20 replacement invitations, no questions asked.

We hired Cindy as our day-of coordinator after interviewing 2 other companies, both of which had received very positive reviews from references as well as on the Internet. Going into our meeting with Cindy, we were already pretty confident that we were going to go with one of the other companies, unless something utterly amazing happened. It did. We were struck by Cindy's professionalism, confidence, organizational skills, eye for design, and experience. We felt that she had just the right balance of friendliness and firmness that we needed in a wedding coordinator, and that she would be able to think quickly and handle any glitches that would undoubtedly come up on our wedding day. And we were right. Hiring Cindy was possibly the best vendor decision that we made. Her prices are very reasonable and she is worth every penny (and then some). Cindy has just the right personality and skill set for a great wedding coordinator. First, she is very organized -- she created several different lists for us, made detailed schedules for the rehearsal and actual wedding day, and was able to handle and keep track of several last-minute changes. During the weeks before the wedding, lots of different e-mails flew back and forth between us every day, all with different questions, responses, and thoughts. I was sure that something would fall through the cracks but nothing did. Cindy kept track of every detail, every change, and every outstanding issue. That ability is invaluable to a bride who has (or at least feels like she has) a million other things to attend to and remember. Second, Cindy is very thorough and knowledgeable -- she constantly thought of things that hadn't occurred to us and demonstrated an incredible attention to all the details of the wedding ceremony and reception. Third, Cindy is an advocate for you -- she has your best interest at heart and will do what is needed to ensure a smooth and successful wedding. She was firm with vendors on certain points where we would have just folded. And there were several times when Cindy would listen to how we wanted something done and suggest something different because of a consideration that we hadn't thought of. Rather than simply nodding her head or saying yes to whatever we wanted, Cindy spoke her mind when she felt, in her experience, that something might not work. In the end, of course, the decision was always up to us, but we were so grateful to her for bringing up these points and suggestions (which we invariably adopted, to our great benefit, I think). Fourth, Cindy is a quick thinker and a problem solver. We knew that no matter how carefully we planned our wedding, something would go wrong on the day-of. One of our main reasons for hiring a day-of coordinator was to handle any such problems. Our first unexpected glitch was that the air conditioner in the chapel decided to break down on our wedding day. Cindy was on it right away, calling the necessary people to get it fixed before I had a chance to worry about it. Cindy was also able to get an impromptu toast incorporated into our reception, coordinating with our DJ to fit it into the schedule seamlessly. Finally, Cindy is very accessible. She is very quick to respond via e-mail and phone, especially in the last few weeks before the wedding, when communicating with her is key. We couldn't have asked for a better day-of coordinator. Cindy was really invaluable -- even our guests noticed how competent she is. Several of them raved about her and commented about what a fabulous job she was doing. Our officiant told us multiple times how great she was at running our rehearsal and how glad he was that we had hired her. It is largely because of Cindy that we were able to relax and actually have fun at our wedding - we would definitely recommend her to everyone!
