The FGM was a beautiful setting for a wedding. We were married on the front steps and had the reception in the grand hall and courtyard out back. The package includes catering, linens, centerpieces, a wedding coordinator, dj, and more (can't remember it all!). I really enjoyed having it all done for me rather than booking each vendor individually, but the price was a little high. We had a few issues with our planning as the FGM is a private residence with strict rules, but all-in-all, it was a wonderful wedding! They help you plan everything to the very minute and even provide a minute-by-minute schedule/agenda for the rehearsal and wedding so that the bride will know exactly how and when everything will happen to ensure the perfect day.
Ashley K was by far our favorite vendor. We had budgeted to spend a little more than average on photography in an effort to have tons of great pictures - and she did not disappoint! We were thrilled with the results! We did our engagement, bridals, and wedding day coverage with her and obtained all of the negatives at no additional cost. Highly recommend her but she books up quickly!
Top Bakery was fantastic! The cake was delicious and everyone raved about it. Also, the staff was very accomodating and worked with me to customize a cake that was exactly what I wanted, rather than making me choose some cookie-cutter cake out of a book. They really worked with us on both the bride and groom's cake, and both turned out better than imagined. The prices were very reasonable as well, and they delivered it for only $35. Also, we didn't have to worry about returning any of the pieces of the cake - which seems trivial, but is not fun to worry about while on your honeymoon! From the outside, the shop does not look impressive, but the inside boasts of its experience. Definitely worth checking out and at least doing a cake taste test!
MW is great for tuxes and offered a nice discount of $20 off each groomsmen's tux and a free tux for the groom. All of the guys were measured in different cities and picked up the tuxes the day before. Everyone's sizes worked out great, and no one had to worry about returning them before the wedding for a resize. However, we ordered bowties for the groom and groomsmen, but one groomsmen's tux had a regular tie. We didn't realize this until we were taking pictures 2 hours before the ceremony, and my mom called MW. They were very responsive and cooperative and brought us a bowtie to our location within an hour. We were impressed with this sense of urgency and customer service.
These guys were fantastic! They request that we send in all of our important songs (first dance, etc) and then make a list of requests for dinner time music, dance music, etc. We weren't really sure what exact songs to list out, so we simply used this space in the questionnaire to describe the feeling that we wanted that time to have (romantic, energetic, etc). They responded fantastically and had an incredible play list. I've heard from everyone that they have never had so much fun at a wedding reception before. They djs (Zach and Evan?) were great hosts.
