I can't say enough good things about having our wedding reception at Parizade. We rented their large, private room which had its own stand-alone bar, an area for dancing, and enough seating for our 35 guests for dinner. We were assigned our own waiter and bartender for the night, which worked out great. We also had the use of the room's built-in stereo system and projector, which allowed us to save on paying for a DJ and to put up a fun slide show during dinner.
The staff was fantastic and responsive. We had a lot of flexibility in picking out the menu and were even treated to a tasting session ahead of time to try out some of the wines and food we picked out. We were honestly treated like royalty here!
I highly recommend Parizade for a reception for a small wedding. Even if you're not planning to do your reception there - go for dinner some time! The food is wonderful!
We had a wonderful experience booking our ceremony at the Pergola (gazebo) at Duke Gardens. The lady in charge of reservations was extremely helpful and was responsive to exchanged emails and phone calls to make sure everything was ready for the big day. They took care of setting up chairs and making sure we had parking passes for all of our guests. The booking process was a snap and only required a simple contract that were were able to mail back. Duke Gardens was also very flexible with us on setting a rehearsal time the day before and even extended the time on our parking passes so that we could stay longer and take photos of the wedding party in the gardens. We received our security deposit back right on time with no hassles.
The biggest perk to booking our wedding at Duke Gardens was the natural beauty and scenery. We were able to save a ton of money by not having to buy additional decorative flowers!
Hilton Pittman and his team did a fantastic job with our wedding photography at Duke Gardens! Not only were the photographs stunning, but they are a fun mix of candid shots, "artistic" shots, and traditional wedding portraits. My husband and I had a great time modeling for the camera in a number of inventive shots.
We had a number of styles to choose from to create a very unique wedding album. Some of my favorites ended up being pictures that Hilton digitally edited to make certain elements of the shot stand out (like the green ribbon that accented my white dress). He has a great eye for detail and really captured some beautiful moments between us (the couple!) and among our guests. In addition, we received the disks containing our photographs right on time, about a week and a half after the wedding.
Hilton Pittman and his team were professional, courteous, and were delightful in their interactions with our guests. I would highly recommend their services for a wedding, epecially considering how affordable their options are compared to other photographers in the area.
I love the arrangements that the florist at Woodcroft did for our wedding. They were beautiful and , importantly for us, very affordable. I was really pleased that the florist worked with me extensively to find lovely flowers that were not too expensive, rather than try to pressure us into pricey roses or lilies. We ended up basing our arrangements around alstroemeria blooms that are lovely, hardy, and come in a wide variety of shades. The florist also worked with me extensively on choosing the right colors/varieties and picking out matching greenery.
I give Woodcroft 4 stars for quality of service because even though all the flowers looked fantastic, the bridesmaid bouquets weren't wrapped tightly enough (or maybe high enough up the stems) for extensive handling and started to droop a bit after the ceremony while we were taking pictures. The bridal bouquet held up fine. Other than this minor glitch, everything was great and I would recommend them for other weddings.
We had a wonderful experience booking Classy Transportation to transport us from our wedding venue to the reception. We rented the Excaliber and it was such a fun ride! Plus, we have a number of lovely photographs that our photographer took of us featuring the car that look like we stepped out of an old movie. The driver was extremely courteous and took us around town wherever we wanted to go. As an added bonus, he rolled out a red carpet for us when we arrived at the reception.
Overall, the owner was kind, flexible with time, and extremely gracious. He even gave us a discount for booking at the Southern Bridal wedding show in Raleigh - so a similar venue might be a good time to do your booking. We had a wonderful time enjoying his service and I would highly recommend Classy Transportation.
