We met in 2000 but did not start dating until 2004. They bumped into each other while out with mutual friends on July 21st, 2004 while at Coral Bay (which was demolished by Hurricane Francis) and hit it off.
Sean proposed in March at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. while we were taking a break from our apartment search just before our move.
Since then there have been many ups and downs but they have only made us grow stronger and realize what we mean to each other.
We are planning our wedding for the second time. The previous ceremony planning was interrupted by a pregnancy, but we couldn’t be happier to welcome our newest addition Riley to the family. We now have a wonderful little boy, 5 year old Michael and our little girl.
We are happy to FINALLY start rolling that ball again and look forward to our "BIG DAY"!
The Ring
I have a beautiful ring and want a wrap for my wedding band with two smaller diamonds to wrap around my engagement ring.
Our Wedding Plans
Our wedding date has been set for the 20th of September at 2pm located at St Josephs Catholic Church in Herndon, VA. We will be having a mass and anticipate about 1 hour ceremony. We expect about 150 guests (including children). The bridal party consists of 1 matron of honor, 1 best man, 6 maids and 6 groomsmen as well as 1 ring bear and 2 flower girls.
After the ceremony, we are off to Leesburg, VA to the River Creek country Club for our reception. River Creek Country Club rests on the Potomac River and is where the Potomac meets Little River. The clubhouse has 4 rooms, 1 will be the kids room, another the dinner room, the third for dancing and bar and the final will be a sitting area set up for elderly who dont want need a little more privacy or calmness.
We will be having open bar and plated dinners.
When we first signed with River Creek, Liz LaPorte was the event captain. She was promoted and Aley took over who was GREAT!
There was nothing she couldnt fix. Our table cloths were leased and they arrived on site the day before the wedding. Aley looked them over and noticed they were the wrong size so she assisted us with having the order corrected and keeping me calm.
The staff was so friendly and everything went smooth. We were even rescued by a fleet of golf carts and wait staff when we were running behind schedule for pictures :).
St. Joseph Catholic Church is our parish and Fr. Jim conducted our ceremony. We love the church and chose this as our parish because they are part of the Franciscan Order. It is a unique style church on the inside and the priests are all so nice and really work with you. I couldnt have chosen a better location for our ceremony.
We were so lucky to find Mary! I came across another photographer through the local Knot Magazine and they were unavailable and referred us to love life images. We gave Love Life a call and Jackie scheduled us with Mary. We went out for our consultation and met with Mary at her studio in MD and fell in love right away. We then did a family mini session in exchange for our engagement session since we had been engaged for a few years. For our wedding she and her associate photographer, Wendy, arrived on time and did such a beautiful job with everyone and everything. We will be using Love Life for all of our photo sessions in the future and feel blessed to have had them as a part of our wedding and family experience!
Katherine's Bridal Boutique Alexandria, Virginia 22314
I was looking for a very specific Maggie Sottero gown and called around to the few boutique's in the area that carry them. When I called Katherine's Bridal, I spoke with Kathy (not to be confused with Katherine) who was very sweet and helped me find my dress (which was not the one that I originally thought I wanted). The only reason I decided to go with a Maggie was because the Demetrios dress I wanted was a lace dress that had to be special order and I needed 18 weeks to have made to my height and I found it with exactly 18 weeks to go and wanted to think about it some more. I regret not going with it now. After I purchased my dress from Katherine's I felt good about it, but when I went back for my first fitting and to try the dress, I was helped by different people and most were very rude. They could not find my veil or head piece and never ordered my petti coat (which I was charged for) until the day before the wedding, it was just very stressful. I was also not happy with my alterations. They were over priced and since they did them without a petti coat, they were not where they should be. I was displeased and do not recommend them to anyone unless they have no other vendor in the area that carries their dress. Even then, I recommend taking your dress elsewhere for alterations.
Very pleased. We signed with Kurt and he put Anthony on our wedding. He called us a few weeks before and said Anthony had been late to a couple of weddings so he was taking him off of our wedding. He assigned us a new DJ who did a perfect job. He engaged the crowd and played everything perfect. We forgot to ask for a last song, he came up to us early in the wedding and asked if we had a preference or wanted to figure one out and we said we didnt really care so he came up with something that was perfect. I would highly recommend!

They were worth every penny! Nancy was easy to work with. I think the music was the hardest selection we had to make because we also had some restrictions by the church. Nancy sent us some music selections and helped us stick to the churches rules. They were on time, came in and worked well with the other musicians for the ceremony (vocalist, pianist) and came over to wish us congratulations when we went back into the church for a few. We highly recommend.
Allan was so sweet and such a pleasure to work with. He came to the rehearsal just to get a view of the church, check out set up and meet us prior to the ceremony. He was on time to everything and got some really great photage. I also have to add that he was always straight forward and kept us in the loop 100% on everything that was going on.
Renee was so sweet and she took time to go over the invitations twice with us. She also did the addressing and stamping for innards and outside envelopes for 1 per invitation (which really helped with the stress). We loved her.
ING was the best deal in town. We were wanting to get a party bus as well, but it would have caused us to exceed our budget by even more than we already had and we decided against it. However, when we stressed this concern to ING they said that they would be happy to offer the limo as a shuttle for guests from the reception back to the hotel (and they did just that) and did not charge extra. The limo was beautiful. We rented the H3 and it was clean, the driver was friendly and early to the hotel for pick up to the ceremony. I highly recommend.

Margoux was a total sweet heart. She showed up about 30 minutes later than we expected (which was not a big deal because we were all over the place the day of as well) with her sister who was helping to do hair. There were 7 of us total. Everyone looked beautiful. No one had asked for a particular style so they had free range. They did a lot of curl and style (half up/half down styles) but they did not hold. I would recommend bringing some of your own extra hold spray to make sure the hair stays. My hair was an updo and stayed all night. I was the last person in the chair (which i preferred to be honest) but we were running behind and were about 20 minutes late to the church. The bun was supposed to be a different style, but it looked beautiful nonethe less. I didnt know my hair was any different until i saw the pictures and it still looked great. Everyone looked beautiful and Margoux was so pleasant through the whole process and she was really easy to work with. She did say to let her know if I did not like anything and she was willing to do the consultation more than once. To her doing it right is the most important thing. I think my style ended up different because we verbally said it was a bun (although it was supposed to be a circular pull bun rather than a twist) and we were rushed for time. Other than that- My make up was perfect and I couldnt be happier with the results.
Our wedding went about as close to perfect as it could have and we owe that to Myra and her crew. We hired Myra for the day of coordinating and she made sure everything went smoothly. She kept in touch with us from the day we signed the contract to the day of the wedding. She would ask if there was any relief she could offer even mid way through. She came to the rehearsal to help organize and prepare for day of and also picked up everything for the ceremony and reception that night so she could take care of it all for us. She gave us a lot of relief day of, I knew I did not have to worry about anything because it was in their hands. We highly recommend!
