As a bride, of course I wanted my wedding to be perfect. Part of that was having a beautiful, comfortable, private outdoor venue, and that's exactly what I got at the Hidden Chateau. We had 125 guests, and it was a great fit. Since the ceremony takes place in the same area as the reception, it was still remarkably well-organized, as far as getting tables set up, etc. Following the ceremony and while we took pictures, our guests could gather away from that in the shade for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. It was much hotter than expected that day, and umbrellas were provided for guests during the ceremony as well as the reception.
We had a truly perfect day, many thanks in part to the staff of this lovely venue.
What a great choice I made going with Bella Donna Special Events! Where to start...the staff! Mainly I worked with Donna, and she is such a sweet person, professional, and sincerely wants your day to come out as perfect as you do. Inquiries were answered by her promptly and she is very detail-oriented. And the food...wow! Initially I had a great list of variety to choose from, including hors d'oeuvres, salads, breads, entrees and desserts, and I don't think I could have gone wrong with anything. It was all delicious, and luckily, as the bride, I got to enjoy some of it :) The decor...not only were the reception tables beautifully coordinated, but she took the time to make sure the cocktail tables and buffet tables looked good too. Every detail was taken into account. The cake...I had a very specific idea of how I wanted the cake to look, and made my choices for cake type and fillings. It came out beautiful, and was also some of the best cake I have ever eaten. There is a lot to consider and many decisions to be made when choosing a caterer, and in my experience, was painless. My decision to work with Bella Donna helped to make my wedding day a truly perfect one!
My wedding colors were primarily lavender and white, with varying shades of purple. Lori provided the bouquets, corsages and boutennieres, and they were gorgeous! I had very specific ideas of what I wanted, and she sure came through. My bouquet was stunning, just like everything else. During the times I communicated with her, I was always pleased and knew that things would come out just right...and they did.
I went through David's Bridal for an accessories package (garters, guest book, flower girl basket, etc.), and was pleased with the sales price, but upon use of the items, not so pleased with the quality. After signing, the pages of guest book were falling out. Otherwise, the rest was okay. I did not purchase my dress through David's, but did have a David's brand dress that I bought used through Craig's List. I was unhappy that David's refused to alter or clean the dress, even though I offered to pay them whatever they asked for the services. The worst of it was that one of my bridesmaid's was sold a dress that had already been altered. It still fit her okay, but okay was not what we would have wanted for a wedding. Our experiences with David's Bridal were not the worst, but weren't good either.
Helzberg Diamonds Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909
We actually went to the Helzberg Diamonds location at Flatiron Crossing Mall. We were looking for a wedding band to fit with my engagement ring (not an easy task, due to the shape), and a wedding band for my husband. I found a beautiful yellow gold and diamond chevron style band that was perfect, and my husband found the lightweight band he wanted, in titanium which was very affordable. The service was superb and they were always very nice and patient each of the five or six times we visited the store until making a purchase. The most attractive part of the deal was their lifetime warranty plan for their jewelry that is offered at a low initial cost. As long as we show up every 6 months to have them inspected, they will resize, or even replace lost diamonds. This was much better than the 1-year or 3-year warranties that are available at other chain jewelry stores.
