The TradeWinds Island Resort far exceeded my expectations for the wedding!!! We had the classy wedding of our dreams on a budget! Our friends and family still can't stop commenting on how this was the best wedding they've ever been too. Renee was so professional and very accomodating to any need we had. You can tell that they are known for thier events...everything was flawless. Being this was a destination wedding, it was important to us to pick a location where our friends and family would feel like they were on "vacation" and not just at a wedding. The TradeWinds has something for everyone. Tons of restaurants and beach bars! They provide cabana's on the beach, an adult only heated pool, paddleboat rides, beach volleyball and much more! We stayed there for five days leading up to the wedding and the staff treated us like royalty. They offer many locations for ceremony and reception. They also have many different options on the menu for you to choose. The food and service was outstanding. They truely made our day so special and we were able to "let go" of all the details and enjoy our day!
Irene was an absolute pleasure to work with. Since we were planning from Atlanta, we were only able to have one meeting 5 months before the wedding. Her and her husband were great! They even let my dog play in their yard as we were meeting! She was able to tell me what color combination would look great with my bridesmaid's bright coral dresses. She was so professional and very confident. She knew exactly what would be the best and although I didn't have an image in my head, I knew I could trust her. I was right. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous! I'm still getting compliments on them. I had a couple last minute things that needed to be adjusted and she was very accomodating. She knew we were on a budget and worked with us. I'm so happy I found her on weddingwire. Everything was absolutely perfect. This is a couple that cares more than just about the money...they truely want you to be impressed on your special day and really care about the service they provide. Her husband delivered the flowers and made sure they were all perfect, pinned on right and that the girls knew how to hold them so they looked their best in the photos. He helped me pin on pictures of my deceased grandparents to my bouquet and even stayed to see some of the photos being shot. Irene and her husband definitely went over and beyond my expectations. I couldn't have asked for a better florist!
By far, the best cake I've ever had!!! When we were in the area we had appointments at 2 different places. We loved the warm fuzzy feeling we got from the LeCheesecake staff. You can tell it was family run and everyone was so friendly. Most importantly the cake, and cheesecake, were the best we've ever tasted! Needless to say we got about 2 blocks away (on the way to the next place) when we just decided to turn the car around and book with LeCheesecake instead. There wasn't a need to taste another cake. My mother-in-law also picked up some mini cheesecake bites for our dinner party that night. They were very accomodating and my sea shell wedding cake was perfect. The flavors were so amazing that we couldn't decide. They were able to do three different flavors for us and we did a cheesecake for the grooms cake! I highly recommend this bakery! I'm excited for the free anniversary cake, since I only had time for one bite of our wedding cake. You will not be disappointed!
Our DJ Rob Vollmar was the best! I heard great things about Grant Hemond and so excited to have booked with them. It's definately true that a DJ can make or break your wedding. He was so professional and knew just how to mix the music to get everyone on the dance floor. He even took the time to call the day of the wedding to check that he had the right version of our first dance song. Good thing, because we had taken dance lessons to another version. Whew! He truely saved the day. Grant Hemond worked with our budget and Rob also rented his projector to us for our slideshow for much cheaper than what we were going to pay. Everything ran so smoothly. The thing I loved most about Rob was the way he made everything personal. He learned the names of key people and referred to them throughout the reception. He even made us a personal CD with our Maid of Honor and Best Man speeches mixed in. I was so touched that I couldn't stop crying! He truely made sure that our day was special and our family and friends cannot stop raving about how impressed they were with him. I highly recommend using them for your wedding. You won't be disappointed!

Ephraim from Rythm Trail was the best! The steel drums added such a nice touch to the ceremony and cocktail hour. He really set the mood for the wedding of my dreams and everyone loved the idea of something beachy and tropical. The only downfall was that I had a hard time getting a hold of him before the ceremony. I had no idea what I was walking down the aisle to. My dad loved that he played Somewhere Over the Rainbow. At the end of the day, I put my faith in him and everything was perfect. I only wish we didn't have so much going on and I could've enjoyed the entertainment during the cocktail hour a little more. He was dressed appropriately, very upbeat and professional. I'd highly recommend hiring him for your beach wedding. You and your guests will truely be amazed!
Deborah Walker is such a caring and wonderful individual. Planning from out of state, I didn't have time to meet her before the wedding. After the first phone call, I knew I made the right choice. She was so easy to talk to and wanted to make sure that I was comfortable with all decisions. Since my resort didn't offer any arch or beach ceremony decor, Deborah made some great suggestions that worked well with our budget and style. She decorated our tiki torches to match the colors of the wedding. It looked absolutely perfect! When we finally met at the Rehearsal dinner, it's like I've known her forever. She was so sweet and really excited to be officiating our ceremony. Our family and friends loved her and I was impressed that throughout the planning process, she kept in touch with many ceremony choices. Everything was perfect. She even gave us a small gift and wrote our names, date and ceremony location on the back. What a nice touch! She was my only vendor to do a follow up when we got home and sent links to name changing websites. So helpful and made this process so easy! She is the best! Darla was AMAZING! She arrived at the resort on time and has so many products and ideas! She was very fun to have in the bridal suite throughout the day and very helpful. Her prices are so reasonable and it was so nice to just relax in the bridal suite rather than rush around to a nearby salon. She was there throughout the day for any touch ups and quick fixes. She even came down to the beach during our photos before the ceremony. I felt like a movie star! She is calm, sweet and very easy to get along with. My hair and make-up was absolutely perfect! I would highly recommend that you book with Darla! She is the best!
Eddie (aka Mr. Twinkle Toes) is by far the best dance instructor ever! My Husband was not looking forward to taking dance lessons but did it as a favor to me. Eddie was so calm and nice and helped to put him at ease. Our song was "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz. Definitely not a typical "slow" song and I knew it would've been 3 1/2 minutes of "suicide" if we attempted to dance to this song on our own. I saw what he did with random couples at the Aquarium Bridal Show within hours and I also had a friend who used his services and highly recommended him. I'm so happy we did this. I have to admit, after Mark fumbled through the second lesson, I was horrified that he would never get it! I was frustrated and ready to throw in the towel. Eddie convinced me that most people who have never danced before go through this and not to worry. He was right! By Lesson 5 he was swinging me around the dance floor! It was such an amazing transition and our guests were cheering the whole time! They LOVED it! Mark later admitted that he had fun with the lessons and felt closer to me by doing this together. I don't care what kind of dance you are doing, you definitely should book lessons with Mr. Twinkle Toes. It is worth every penny and your guests won't be falling asleep watching you do the typical slow dance!
